Financial Inclusion for Refugees (FI4R) Results of baseline survey March 2020 Project Overview The Financial Inclusion for Refugees Project (FI4R) was launched by FSD Uganda and FSD Africa to support financial service providers (FSPs) to oer financial services to refugees and host communities. In addition, the project in collaboration with BFA Global will conduct refugee financial diaries in Uganda and provide insights into the financial strategies employed by refugees over time to build their livelihoods and manage their finances. The FSP partners in the project are Equity Bank Uganda Limited (EBUL), VisionFund Uganda (VFU) and Rural Finance Initiative (RUFI). They will oer bank accounts services for savings, remittances, transactions etc, loans to entrepreneurs, farmers and businesses as well as create jobs by recruiting agents and field sta. This is expected to build resilience, drive access to and use of basic financial services for refugees and host communities. Baseline Objectives • Provide the financial service providers in the FI4R project details of the relevant customer base they are targeting. • Provide other stakeholders one of the few in-depth surveys that covers financial tools, as well as income, expenditures and physical assets of a diverse set of refugees. Masaka Regional Referral Hospital
Masaka Regional Referral Hospital Having started in 1927 as a treatment centre for World War I veterans, Masaka Regional Referral Hospital was elevated to regional referral status in 1996. Mugisha Ereazer, the principal Hospital Administrator says the hospital has a 330 bed capacity with an annual admission of 23,456 patients giving a bed occupancy rate of 90.6%. With the completion of a new mega hospital facility, the bed capacity is expected to increase to about 540 beds. The hospital's catchment is spread across eight districts ± Masaka, Rakai, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Ssembabule, Bukomamnsimbi, Kalungu and Kalagala, taking care of over two million people. The infrastructural capacity of Masaka regional referral hospital has been limited too. Masaka Regional Referral hospital offers all services expected of a regional referral health facility but also offers nutritional support for both children and adults. It also handles complicated paediatric and gynaecological cases including carrying out fistula repairs. It has also teamed up with MIFUMI ± a national NGO project ± to offer support to victims of gender-based violence from Burundi, Rwanda, the DR Congo and Tanzania. Being along the busy Mombasa - Kampala - Mbarara - Kigali Highway makes it the first point of call for patients mainly accident victims from Burundi, Rwanda, the DR Congo and Tanzania. Consequently , the hospital©s average daily contact with patients is about 2,000. At Masaka Hospital, the patients are very excited about how they are treated and now refer to the hospital as `Mulago'. The staff members are overstretched especially in the maternity ward. Up to 40 babies can be born in one night with 3 midwives on duty.

KIRUHURA DISTRICT LOCAL GOVERNMENT REPORT ON NRM MANIFESTO IMPLEMENTATION IN KIRUHURA DITRICT 2018 DISTRICT PROFILE This covers geographical location, climate, topography, vegetation, surface area and administrative structure. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION Kiruhura District is located in the south western Uganda. It is inter-district locked boarding with Ibanda and Kamwenge Districts in the North West, Mbarara district in the West, Isingiro and Rakai district in the south, Lyantonde district in the east, Kyenjojo and Sembabule district in the North and North east respectively. LAND AREA The district has an area of 4,608 Sq. Kms of which about 2% is open water and wetlands, which leaves an estimated land area of 4,516 km. CLIMATE The district experiences a bi-modal pattern rain seasons which normally occurs from March to May, and mid-August to October. On average the annual rainfall is about 900mm. Notwithstanding the rainy seasons, the district is affected by very long dry periods with temperature ranging from 17c to 30c. On average the district lies 1800 meters above sea level. VEGETATION The vegetation has savannah wood lands type of vegetation with a wider cover of thorny shrubs. The soils are loamy with proportions of sand and rocks. TOPOGRAPHY The district is characterized by short and undulating hills with wide valleys 1 DISTRICT VISION The District intends to maintain the Vision of Attaining holistic sustainable development and poverty free communities by 2030. INSTRUCTION NOTES FOR THE COMPILATION OF FORM MDI 100 FOR MICRO-FINANCE DEPOSIT TAKING INSTITUTIONS (MDIs) IN UGANDA (FOR MICRO-FINANCE DEPOSIT TAKING INSTITUTIONS (MDIs) LICENCED UNDER THE MDI ACT 2003 NOVEMEBER 2020 FOREWORD Institutions registered under the Financial Institutions Act (FIA) 2004 and the Micro-Finance Deposit Taking Institutions (MDI) Act 2003 are required to report to the Central Bank data or information that the Bank may deem necessary for carrying out its responsibilities as spelt out in the two Acts. The Central Bank designs and amends as necessary, returns that are used to collect information from the institutions. The Form MDI 100 is one of the statutory returns designed by the Supervision and Research Functions of Bank of Uganda for all Micro-Finance Deposit Taking Institutions (MDIs) in Uganda The BS100 collects information on financial and nonfinancial assets and liabilities broken down by detailed institutional sectors and in some instances, economic sectors and additional analytical information. We investigated to assess the outbreak scope, factors facilitating transmission, and recommend control measures. Methods: We dened a probable case as sudden onset of fever and generalized rash in a resident of Lyantonde, Lwengo, or Rakai Districts from 1 June-30 September 2017, plus ≥1 of the following: coryza, conjunctivitis, or cough. A conrmed case was a probable case with serum positivity of measles-specic IgM. We conducted a neighborhood- and age-matched case-control study to identied exposure factors, and used conditional logistic regression to analyze the data.
