This was two weeks after Sean had died, at the peak of Chicago’s worst heat wave in history, and two weeks after she had asked, politely, for time and space alone. The apartment smelled of the worn-out sympathies of friends. Baskets of shriveled oranges and pears and wilting lilies and roses moldered on the coffee table and mantle above the fireplace in the living room and anywhere else Lucy had found room to place them. She was certain there were even more baskets waiting for her outside the door of the apartment. She hadn’t opened the door during her seclusion, hadn’t touched the fruit or watered the plants. The idea that a dozen oranges or a clichéd peace plant would alleviate her grief brought on such an unreasonable rage that she’d decided it was best to ignore the whole lot.     Since I began reading the work of Steve Ditko I wanted to have a checklist so I could catalogue the books I had read but most importantly see what other original works by the illustrator I can find and enjoy. With the help of Brian Franczak’s vast Steve Ditko compendium, Ditko-fever.com, I compiled the following check-list that could be shared, printed, built-on and probably corrected so that the fan’s, whom his work means the most, can have a simple quick reference where they can quickly build their reading list and knowledge of the artist. It has deliberately been simplified with no cover art and information to the contents of the issue. It was my intension with this check-list to be used in accompaniment with ditko-fever.com so more information on each publication can be sought when needed or if you get curious! The checklist only contains the issues where original art is first seen and printed. No reprints, no messing about. All issues in the check-list are original and contain original Steve Ditko illustrations! Although Steve Ditko did many interviews and responded in letters to many fanzines these were not included because the checklist is on the art (or illustration) of Steve Ditko not his responses to it. Não é de se estranhar tal tendência, já que trata-se da mais bem sucedida personagem na mídia e a que obteve mais destaque dentre seus pares. Nem de longe foi a primeira super-heroína nas histórias em quadrinhos, mas certamente a que obteve um trilhar mais elaborado e carregado de informações2. A personagem fundou até mesmo um estilo arquetípico de personagem feminina, bastante copiado, transitando entre performances similares aos seus irmãos super-heróis masculinos, mas com elementos e práticas singulares às representações femininas das marés históricas de sua vivência. Inclusive foram as relações entre os discursos das personagens e de suas vilãs, igualmente mulheres autônomas, ou mesmo de outras personagens coadjuvantes em sua mitologia tão extensa, que lhes conferiu singularidade dentro dos escopos de discursos nessa mídia específica e na chamada superaventura3. Trata-se de mais uma franca abordagem que faço sobre a personagem e compartilho com meus pares acadêmicos, dialogando sempre com pesquisadores específicos do objeto- fonte que são as histórias em quadrinhos e fazendo experimentações com teorias e métodos da historiografia contemporânea e instrumentos de outros campos do conhecimento. Ainda que exista um foco aqui bem preciso, que são os discursos feministas em dois polos diferenciados, faz-se útil debruçar-se sobre termos e conceitos usados nas pesquisas sobre representações nas histórias em quadrinhos.

    Welcome to the WHS Fishing Club’s 3rd year. This club was started to promote and encourage the sport of fishing at WHS. We welcome anyone with an interest in fishing from beginners to the more experienced. Our club goals include: Provide social fishing opportunities Educate and develop angler skills Protect the environment and fisheries Have fun THE PLAN We will try to have at least 2 meetings per month. Pending on the weather, we will try to schedule after school fishing outings to local water. Other potential activities include, but are not limited to: “how-to” clinics for making lures, casting, fly-fishing, fishing gear maintenance, etc Guest speakers from the Indiana DNR, local fishing shops, local guides, etc. Conservation service projects Club and state bass tournaments RULES Students will follow the WHS Handbook policies during any club activity. Students will comply with all state and federal fishing laws and regulations. Students will practice catch and release fishing. Students 18 and older must have a valid Indiana fishing license Students that fail to adhere to these rules may be dismissed from WHS FISHING CLUB.
