We previously had a hearing to review many of the issues associated with this legislation. But to make it official, I think we need to start with a roll call from the Senate side of the Committee. MS. HOROWITZ (Committee Aside): Senator Smith. SENATOR SMITH: I’m present. MS. HOROWITZ: Governor Codey. SENATOR SMITH: He’s here; yes. MS. HOROWITZ: Senator Sweeney is present. And Governor Codey is present. Senator Bateman. (no response) SENATOR CODEY: I’m here. Did you do roll call already? SENATOR SMITH: Yes, we’re doing it. SENATOR SMITH: And Senator Thompson is here, too. And I think that’s everybody, right? Okay; so, with your permission, Chairman-- ASSEMBLYMAN DeANGELO: Yes. SENATOR SMITH: --our first witnesses will be the sponsors of the legislation, and I am proud to include myself in that on the Senate side. We have our Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assemblyman John Burzichelli. Gentlemen, if you would describe for the Committee what we’re doing here today. 1 SENATOR SWEENEY: To both Chairmen, thank you for taking up probably one of the most important issues that we’re going to deal with since I’ve been in the Legislature, which is ensuring that our environment has clean energy. The nuke plants in Salem provide 40 percent of the energy in the State of New Jersey, and it’s important that we find a way to keep them open, providing clean energy. There has been a

Box 002 Trenton, NJ 08625 Dear Governor Murphy and Treasurer Muoio: We cannot fathom what you are trying to hide by refusing your traditional responsibility to provide revenue updates to the Assembly Budget Committee. If it was the decision of our colleagues in the legislature, please do not demur. There are only two possibilities that come to mind: that your administration is woefully unprepared to explain how you plan to spend the newly expected money and the more than $6 billion in federal aid, or your disdain for transparency and the legislative process satiates your hunger for unilateral power. It will not be surprising when, in routine business, the budget is introduced and signed into law before anyone can carefully read it. In this consistent lack of transparency, it is clear you and your party are content. Due to your unprecedented decision, we are submitting the below questions regarding the fiscal year 2022 budget, and ask for a response within twenty-four hours that actually answers the questions. That is ample time considering these questions would have been asked directly. Please recall that Republican districts comprise over three-million state residents. Do not continue to disenfranchise them by ignoring their representatives. Questions: 1. Why were the Assembly Budget Committee hearings, scheduled on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, cancelled? 2.

    New Jersey Pinelands Commission PRESS RELEASE November 8, 2002 Contact: Francis Rapa Phone: 609.894.7300 E-mail: [email protected] Governor Florio Takes the Helm at Pinelands Commission Commission welcomes six new members NEW LISBON, NJ - At the monthly meeting of the Pinelands Commission today, six of Governor James McGreevey’s appointments, including former New Jersey Governor James Florio, began serving terms on the Commission. Governor Florio will serve as Chairman of the Pinelands Commission, replacing Jerrold Jacobs, who served since January 2000. The six Commissioners include four new members as well as two that have been reappointed to the panel by the Governor. In addition to Governor Florio, they are Candace Ashmun, Reverend Dr. Guy Campbell, Stephen Lee, Edward Lloyd and Betty Wilson. The Pinelands Commission is a regulatory and planning agency that oversees development, land-use, and a wide range of resource management programs for the million-acre Pinelands. The Pinelands National Reserve and State Pinelands Area were established in 1978 and 1979 under federal and State acts to preserve and enhance the unique natural and cultural resources of the region. “Protection of the Pinelands has been a highlight and priority throughout my career in public service, and the opportunity to lead the Commission is an honor and privilege that I embrace,” said Governor Florio. “I want to thank former Chairman Jacobs and the former Commissioners for their past dedication and commitment to this charge and wish them well in their future endeavors.” Governor Florio takes charge of the Commission in the midst of a year-long review of the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP).

    Introduction This Legislative Handbook is designed to provide guidance and assistance to representatives of the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. (NJAMHAA) member organizations who participate in legislative activities. Specifically, the Legislative Handbook presents the Association’s legislative policy and procedures, simplifies the complexities of the legislative process, and provides an orientation to grassroots lobbying for all members. On behalf of its members, NJAMHAA meets with legislators, policy makers and business leaders in order to influence legislative, regulatory and funding decisions in ways that have the most positive outcome on its members. Through increased visibility and a stronger presence, NJAMHAA ensures that members’ concerns are expressed and that their interests are represented. This allows members the peace of mind of knowing that legislative or regulatory changes that are made will occur with their views expressed. NJAMHAA is committed to facilitating meaningful exchange both within the Association and with other industry stakeholders to achieve mutual advocacy.     1 Verizon Political Activity January – June 2016 A Message from Craig Silliman Verizon is affected by a wide variety of government policies -- from telecommunications regulation to taxation to health care and more -- that have an enormous impact on the business climate in which we operate. We owe it to our shareowners, employees and customers to advocate public policies that will enable us to compete fairly and freely in the marketplace. Political contributions are one way we support the democratic electoral process and participate in the policy dialogue. Our employees have established political action committees at the federal level and in 18 states. These political action committees (PACs) allow employees to pool their resources to support candidates for office who generally support the public policies our employees advocate. This report lists all PAC contributions, corporate political contributions, support for ballot initiatives and independent expenditures made by Verizon and its affiliates during the period January – June 2016. The contribution process is overseen by the Corporate Governance and Policy Committee of our Board of Directors, which receives a comprehensive report and briefing on these activities at least annually. We intend to update this voluntary disclosure twice a year and publish it on our corporate website. We believe this transparency with respect to our political spending is in keeping with our commitment to good corporate governance and a further sign of our responsiveness to the interests of our shareowners. MEMORANDUM TO: Geraldine Ferraro FROM: Tom Silver RE: NEW JERSEY Political Briefing October 6, 1984 CAMPAIGN UPDATE A statewide poll conducted for ABC News Sept. 12-17, shows the GOP ticket up by 32 points (61%-29%). The last published poll was one conducted July 30-Aug. 6 for the Newark Star Ledger, which showed a 23 point deficit. Mr. Mondale campaigned in New Brunswick last Monday. See the attached article. This is a targetted state for the Republicans. The New Jersey Reagan/Bush campaign, which is chaired by Cong. Jim Courter, has announced that it intends to spend $1 million here. A New Jersey Democrats-for-Reagan committee was recently announced. It is headed by former Assembly Speaker and one-term Cong. Joseph LeFante, who is from Hudson County (where Carter topped Reagan by just two percentage points).
