President’s Report

The 2017/18 season was one of change and opportunity. At the end of the 2016/17 season, we reflected on the achievements and then went to work on the areas of improvement for the Club.

Our women’s cricket was showing significant signs of improvement and had a strong and committed leadership group. The leadership group needed an improved structure, support and access to coaching to convert enthusiasm in to on-field success. The support of facilitated our appointment of James Sansalone to lead the women’s cricket program and he was assisted by Aaron Lilly as a specialist batting coach with Cal How always willing to also get involved and help. From a Club perspective, it was brilliant to see senior players supporting our women’s cricket program. Many thanks to the leadership group and to the coaching and support staff on the significant improvements which culminated in the B’s T20 premiership.

Our juniors were well lead by Andrew Sculthorpe who coordinated the 13s 14s 15s and 17s and with good coaches and a well-structured support group, our teams performed exceptionally well. Many of our 15s and 17’s players were given an opportunity to play seniors and with the active involvement of Dermott Reeve in the junior program, it helped facilitate a bridge for our talent to advance into our senior teams. I expressed our thanks to all of the players and supporters at the junior windup and given the enthusiasm and performances of our juniors, the Club has a bright future.

Coming off a 1st Grade premiership, we had several long serving players hang up their spikes resulting in the loss of 11 players from our top 2 sides. The losses created both challenges and opportunities.

Our success in the prior year provided opportunities for Calum How and Andrew Holder to be recognized as high performing talents and they advanced to get opportunities to play against England and for WA. Congratulations to both lads.

In addition to Cal and Noddy, we had in our list state members including Cameron Green, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Couler-Nile and Marcus Stoinus. All world class players but with only 15 overs bowled for the club collectively in the current year, combined with the loss of the 11 players, it placed pressure on a young playing group to step up.

Our players embraced the opportunities and flew to Christmas before a slowdown in the second half of the year.

At the beginning of the year our KPI’s were as follows:

• To finish Top 6 in the Club Championship No • 1st Grade to play in finals No • Either 2s, 3s, 4s or Colts to play in finals No • Both women’s teams to play in finals No • 4 senior players to represent the state Yes • 2 junior players to represent the state Yes • No reports or suspensions No • Top 2 pitch and ground rating Yes

Season 2017/18 41st Annual Report Page 6

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.)

From a distance, our report card on a KPI basis suggests we had a poor season but from a Club’s view I believe we had great success. We have a depth of talent which has developed in the lower grades and resulted in 2nd grade having their best on-field result for many years. We had the youngest 1st grade team in the competition showing we have a good future and we had all teams in finals contention up until the last couple of games.

Our coaching staff work hard to build players into mature decision makers who can perform under pressure. Well done Derm and thanks for a brilliant contribution. To Liam, Ken and John, many thanks in supporting Dermot and working hard with the lads to help them be the best they can.

A big thanks to the Committee for their continued efforts to help deliver an environment where cricketers can fulfill their dreams.

Having been on the Committee for the past 11 years and as President for the past 6 years, I believe it is time to refresh the leadership at the Club and accordingly, I will step down from the Committee at the upcoming AGM. I have a passion for Subi and will continue to be involved to help where needed, but believe all boards should continually renew and refresh to remain relevant.

Having finished playing many years ago, I was lucky enough to re-engage when Cam and Kim started with the 13s. Getting back to the Club was brilliant and I felt I could help to make it a bit better so I got involved with the Committee whilst coaching. Jane had been at the Club ever since she was 8 years of age with her 3 older brothers all playing for Subi. Jane helped with afternoon teas, managing teams, and as treasurer for a combined 30 years of service. She co-ordinated the juniors and initiated all of the club having one set of clothing and training kit which I know all of us wear with pride today. Jane has supported my total involvement at the Club, for which I was lucky enough to be made a life member this year, but as you can see, the true passionate supporter of the Club has always been Jane.

The initial drive was to create a one Club culture and I pushed for the integration of the junior and senior clubs before subsequently helping to add the women’s cricket teams.

My vision was:

• to be one united club with common values and beliefs; • to provide an environment where cricketers can achieve their dreams; • to be financially strong; • to be hard, fair and respected on the field; and • to support our players in all aspects of life off the field.

I leave the Committee knowing the Club is in good hands and knowing we are almost there.

Many thanks to Jane, Cam and Kim for their continued support and assistance and allowing me the personal indulgence of my passion for Subi and many thanks to all of the Club’s supporters for your continued support and best wishes.

Cheers

Glyn

Coach’s Report

Having had 3 sides in finals the year before and a premiership for the First grade it would be assumed that the club under performed in 2017/18.

I actually feel that would be unfair to say as the playing group was so very different with more than 40 players playing a higher level than ever before. To lose Alex Malcolm and Glenn Stockden from the first- grade side is a massive loss and then add Steph Collins, Jimmy Sansolone, Jacob Evans plus Jason Hart, Drew Watson, Sam Pearce and Nick Powe. That makes 9 first graders. Add Bailey Waller and the club president who still sees the ball well and that's not a bad X1.

10 with first grade experience and the tenacious Bailee.

Young players therefore got to be challenged with a better level of cricket than they were used to. It takes some a while to show their best and feel they belong and can compete. Michael Hart, Lucas Martin, Jack Retallack, Hamish McKenzie and Keiran Prasanth all will be better for their exposure in the first-grade arena.

Confidence and a team doing well can lift all to perform at a good level. Last season 7 in first grade averaged plus 40 with the bat, this season only Andrew Holder did. He batted so well and a fantastic season that saw him average 66 and be picked for the state.

Interestingly in 2014 /15 when Alex Malcolm missed the first 5 rounds and then had a tough run with only 137 runs at 11, no batsman averaged over 35, the firsts finished 12th that season. The year before he made 1000 runs and 7 batsmen scored more than 300 runs also, the side finished 3rd.

This year only 4 bats made over 300 runs and obviously no 700-1000 runs from Alex at the very crucial spot against the new ball.

So, we must look at what that says. When Alex did well the middle and lower middle order did well. Obviously going in with usually more runs on the board and also often against an older ball.

It is harder to bat when the ball moves sideways in the air and off the pitch.

I can see Alex batting in the nets and always attempting to leave that danger ball that moves away late.

He left that ball in the nets more than anyone and it was a key to his success.

I have mentioned that plenty of times in my first 3 years here.

Remember cricket is habit forming. You will not be able to leave that danger ball until it becomes 2nd nature by practicing the good habit of letting it go. IN The NETS.

The best batsman there have ever been left the ball so well when it was moving about late. Sure, they wacked it when it was a flat true surface with no movement but they knew how they should try and play against a good spell. To get through it, to see it off. Application and courage like an Alex Malcolm would try.

So, the challenge will be there for someone to be the teams Alex Malcolm and if he is not found then a middle order to play on a green light zone more (meaning no risk batting). Playing the percentages as you

Season 2017/18 41st Annual Report Page 8

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.) often hear. No red zone options (high risk) is the way in the two-day game. Batting on yellow (pos intent to score) after tea to up the run rate and against a ball that should not be moving sideways much.

Liam and I have been discussing plans to make training more match orientated and 'guided' self-reliance will be in play. Details pre-season but an innovative structure to attempt to see improvement in performance is the go.

So, the ones finished 8th and fell away like the 2's did after Xmas.

The 2 's started so well largely to Cam O'Briens wicket taking frenzy at the start of the season. Stoyks also started well with the ball and ,2's were 4 from 4. I had said to the committee that it would be very much a development season and I liked the fact juniors were having to play mornings and afernoons. 18 juniors also got a taste of a higher level and some performed very well which bodes well for the future.

Ben Tredjet a year out of juniors averaged 46 in seconds with 460 odd runs.

Angus Mckenzie had a consistent season with the ball even without runs at the top of the order which was part of the plan to see if a more relaxed state might have led to more work / revolutions on the ball.

Brodee Lockwood had a super season also and plays with great encouragement and a selfless attitude.

Bailey Gregson had his moments also and was a breath of fresh air arriving from Bayswater. Amir also got to show his talents at 2nd grade level and I got to do an under 12' s backing up coaching session at training.

Creed also got shown what he does in matches!! which is backing up holding the bat like it's a baby at chest height. He was a warrior pre-season and made courageous changes to improve that worked to a point.

Both his and Amir's attitude were always good and I know neither will mind me using examples of the little things that also matter, not just your main skill. Next season expect more information, communication and attention to detail on the menu,

My thanks to Chris, Tom, Jazz and Luke parker for listening to my love of this game.

To Scott and Bruce well done again with the pitches.

To Glyn and all the committee my sincere thanks. To Cal and Andrew and a few whose self-reliance grew well done on that.

To conclude:

I am honoured to be head coach and love seeing improvement and joy in players faces or in their voices. Andy Nicolson gave me a stand out moment listening to his voice sound so happy but humble after taking 8-43. He was the leading wicket taker in 3rds and a developing all-rounder.

The 3rds finished 9th but with two weeks to go were still a chance of finals

Luke Parker was the pick of the 4th graders and a natural fit as skipper. They finished 12th.

I have heard of an influx of players possibly coming for 2018/19 which could strengthen the playing group which is exciting.

Season 2017/18 41st Annual Report Page 9

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.)

There is also a very talented 17,'s squad so I am predicting a healthy time for the club to come in a couple of years’ time, and a club championship within 5 years.

I believe next season will be a tough test that we must win by hard work, belief and smart cricket. You must just ensure you improve on your attitude and effort. Then your skills will have a better chance to improve and perform.

You have to take the field truly believing you can win the match.

That you could win every match.

Belief and confidence come from how you rate yourself...from your mind. How well you tell yourself you are ready and in good touch. That helps your confidence and you must say it over and over even if it's not true... Let your mind create it's confidence by choosing to be confident.

To Larry for his Stirling help as net , thank you sir. Stu Mckenzie and Andrew ' Big Willow' Wilson, thanks for the great effort on Thursday nights. It helps the spirit no end...keep it up please.

Finally, to chairman of selectors Doss. Stop moaning about the golf cart battery and spending hours making me listen to you about whether you should play 3's or 4's... Enough now. Seriously though, you were excellent in the role and you love the club so much and take the discussing of player selection in the detailed manner it deserves. Lots of healthy debate and communication.

The I in spine for involved is you Gianni and I love the passion and commitment to involvement you have. You are an inspiration to all.

1st Grade Report

The 2017/18 season was always going to be a challenging one. Coming off a high, winning the 2016/17 premiership we saw a change in personnel in a number of key positions. The team faced many challenges that resulted from our young and inexperienced side however I am of the opinion that we negotiated these challenges well and at the end of the day there is no doubt that the experience gained this season will lead to future success.

Reflecting on the season there is no doubt that we were inconsistent with bat and ball. This was expected with such a high number of debutants but what was extremely exciting is the results and outcomes we achieved when we clicked as a unit. Notably we were able to account for three of the top six teams and resoundingly defeated University who eventually played off in the Grand Final.

Of the 20 players to play 1st Grade at Subiaco Floreat this year we had 6 Debutants;

John Stoykovski

Kiran Prashanth

Michael Hart

Jack Retallack

Lucas Martin

Tom Wilson

All of the debutants equipped themselves to a high standard and were able to put strong performances on the board with the opportunities that they were presented with.

In addition to aforementioned Debutants two other younger players - Hamish Mckenzie and Cameron Green - showed outstanding potential and not only found their feet in A grade cricket but excelled on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, both players were struck down with injuries that prevented them from bowling as much as they would have liked, if at all.

Calum How was again excellent with the bat and earnt himself the end of season batting award following some strong match winning performances. In addition to Calum’s batting he continues to grow as a player and has taken on a key leadership role within the side. The maturity Calum displays will hold him in good stead for the seasons to come and I have no doubt he is a future leader of the club.

Andrew Holder also had a fantastic season with both the bat and the ball. His batting improved out of sight over the off season and his all-round performances ultimately earnt him a call up to the state squad where he deservingly secured his place in WA’s Sheffield Shield side for three games.

As a club we aim to achieve two main goals:

• Produce First Class Cricketers

• Win Premierships

We were able to tick one of these boxes this year and there is no doubt in my mind that with the experience our talented youth have gained this year we will be strong contenders for the Premiership in

Season 2017/18 41st Annual Report Page 11

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.) the seasons to come and as a by-product of this success our club will continue to produce First Class Cricketers.

I’d like to thank the committee, sponsors, volunteers, supporters, Gianni Di Rosso our Chairman of selectors and coaching staff - Dermot Reeve, Liam Davis, and John Stoykovski for their efforts all season. I look forward to 2018/19 and prospect of what we can achieve.

2nd Grade Report

First of all, I would like to thank Glyn, Derm and Dos for providing me with the opportunity to skipper in 2017/18. I’ve definitely learnt a fair bit along the way and hopefully have had some impact on the youngsters at the club in one way or another. My message to the group at the beginning of the year was to learn from our mistakes and make sure we have fun throughout. It’s a pretty tough game if we’re not having fun. The feeling in the 2s was always good, with plenty of enthusiasm and energy and they were a pleasure to skipper.

I must thank John Stoykovski for some of the best warm ups I’ve been involved in – this set the tone for the rest of the warm up and day ahead. His leadership and ideas throughout the year were greatly appreciated and definitely assisted me. I must also thank Josh Parker and Angus McKenzie for taking the reins when I was absent. Without a doubt these two will be future skippers at the club. Both have great cricketing minds and they back this up with their actions. Thanks boys.

We had 24 players play with us in the 2s, 15 of them were under 20 years old and if my calculations are correct, we had 7 debutants.

The increased effort and intensity shown at training was evident and this prepared us well for a season where there was always going to be plenty of opportunities for those performing well.

We got off to a flying start, with 4 from 4 in the one dayers and sat at the top of the ladder. Cam O’Brien was instrumental in these, taking 14 wickets in this period. That was as good as it got as we then lost 2 consecutive high intensity, remarkably close games which ultimately cost us a spot in the finals. We finished with 7 wins from our 15 games. Our inability to score over 200 in the first half of the year (only once) was lacking and left the bowlers a big task – often one they would rise to. Ben Tredget shone throughout, taking his time early and getting on top of the opposition bowling attack. His determination, application and great temperament through tough periods set a great example for the rest of the team. Ben’s return for the season was 469 runs @ 46.90!

We rallied hard after Christmas and put our all in to each game, knowing we couldn’t drop too many. This saw our scoring lift and for 3 consecutive games we posted 220+. We had 12 half centuries and just the one century. Josh Parker was our lone centurion with his match winning 100 in Round 13 that kept us in the hunt for finals. The aim is to improve that ratio going forward with further focus, grit and determination. Cam (24 wickets @ 13.79), Angus McKenzie (21 @ 21.52) and John Stoykovski (20 @ 19.60) each took 20+ wickets and often kept us in games.

An extra year under the belt for the group and further experience in some pressure situations will set the group in good stead for 2018/19 and give them a good chance for a finals appearance.

A big thanks to the other skippers for their time, effort and thought you put into each of your teams at selection meetings. Dermott’s knowledge and wisdom in combination with Gianni’s thoughts and ideas always made for an entertaining Tuesday evening at selections!

With many 15s and Derms 17s, in combination with recent graduates of the junior program, the club finds itself in an exciting period going forward. Dermott has created a culture of positivity and in combination with hard work, players give themselves the best chance to succeed and move up the grades.

Thanks to the many volunteers who gave up their time and to the various sponsors who allow the club to function so well.

Lastly, thanks to each and every one of the 24 who played 2s who made the year a fun and enjoyable one. I look forward to a bigger and better season next year!

3rd Grade Report

This was my first season as a captain at Subi-Floreat and whilst the results probably don’t reflect it, I found it to be a really enjoyable season.

We had a playing list of 33 players who played with third grade this year and this was due to some good performances been rewarded from fourth grade players and also players performing well in third grade and gaining promotion to second grade.

As mentioned, I don’t believe our final position on the ladder of 9th (played 14, won 7, lost 7) was a true reflection of where we deserved to finish. We had some good performances but in a number of games, just didn’t get over the line at the end of the day.

Better performing batsmen for the year included:

• Thomas Wilson 228 runs at 38.00 in 7 matches;

• Syed Ahmer 215 runs at 35.83 in 7 matches; and

• Ben Hotchkin 203 runs at 22.56.

Better performing bowlers for the year included:

• Nicholson Andrew 25 wickets at 14.52, including 9/43 vs and 5/37 vs Rockingham- Mandurah; and

• Raman Singh 15 wickets, including 3/17 vs Melville.

To top off a fine season in third grade, Andrew Nicholson finished the year with 25 wickets. Congratulations to Andrew.

On a results front, it wasn’t the season we should not be happy with but we saw a lot of new and young faces in the grade which I believe we will be all the better for the experience and we will look forward to the next season and to build on the year we had this year.

4th Grade Report

The 2017/2018 4th Grade season can best be described as a glimpse at the future. Across 14 games, 43 players took to the field, finishing the season 11th, with 6 wins and 8 losses.

Of those 43 players, 29 were under the age of 20, with the average age of the team coming in at 21 across the season. Though it must be said this average is somewhat bolstered by the inclusion of the ever- youthful Gianni Di Rosso, Sam Pearce and Glynn O’Brien.

These numbers highlight exactly how fortunate we have been as a club to have a large contingent of extremely eager and capable juniors to stick their hands up and play senior cricket this year.

Looking at fourth grade, the performances across the season, it is easy to be optimistic about what the future holds. Under 17, Ethan Chivers posted two half centuries in both fours and threes this year, Under 15 Nathan Bothma reached fifty in consecutive games, while Michael Bothma, Cambell Geddes, Jamie Collins and Campbell Dawson (all under 20) were also among the eleven players to combine for 13 half centuries this season. Unfortunately, no one could go on to post triple figures in a year where we struggled for consistent runs.

On many occasions this year, we took to the field defending a small total and we always ensured it was a difficult chase for the opposition. This was especially evident in the final two rounds of the season where after posting scores below 140 in both first innings, we had the opposition 4/50 and 4/24 at stumps on the respective first days. Efforts such as this were thanks to some fantastic bowling from players such as Tom Ness, Jordan Smith and Campbell Dawson and most importantly the energy and enthusiasm brought by everyone in the field.

Our eagerness in the field was a trademark of the fourth grade this season. Whether it was diving efforts at point, or players running from cover to mid-wicket to slap a bloke on the back, everyone who took to the field did so with a team first attitude.

In what was a season of opportunity for all at the club, I am happy to say a number of fourth grade players were rewarded for their performance with promotion up the grades throughout the year. I would like to congratulate Jordan Smith, Campbell Dawson, Tom Ness, Ethan Chivers, Creed Griffiths and Mitchell Repsevicius, all of whom debuted in third grade this year, as well as Brodee Lockwood who worked hard on his game all year and finished the season in the second-grade side.

I would like to thank all 43 players who contributed in fourth grade this year and on behalf of these players, thank Dermott, Liam and Ken for their coaching throughout the season, as well as our dedicated committee who commit so much of their time to make Subiaco Floreat the envy of all other clubs.

Colts Report

For the first time, the Colts were to compete in a 20/20 competition rather than the previous one-day format. In a new format for most of the players, there was to be a slight transitional period for everyone to adjust and adapt. This is what we saw in the first game of the season for the colts away at Willetton on a typically slow and low wicket where we were caught frustratingly 12 runs short, with no standout performances to note.

Cruising past Gosnell’s at home was next with an important 45 off 50 balls from Mike Hart to lead the side home chasing a modest 109. Well supported by Jack Retallack (26* off 27) and Geremy Fatouros (33 off 24).

Needing to win the final game against Wanneroo the side was confident of progressing through to the semi-finals. The side fell agonisingly short losing off the last ball. A fantastic effort defending a total of 127 with blows from Mike Hart once again. Three wickets each to Corey Bradnam and Lucas Martin led the side’s charge but unfortunately it wasn’t to be for the Lions.

It was a pleasure to captain the Colts side this year, playing with a great bunch of boys with endless talent. A massive thank you to Dermott Reeve and Gianni Di Rosso for all the help throughout the campaign.

Under 17s Report

Firstly, a big thank you to Ian Geddes who was such a fantastic help as team manager.

Angus McKenzie for being a positive influence as assistant coach always, well done.

To all the parents for their support and an extra mention of Rob who was a spectacular figure as square leg umpire at times.

To Scott and Bruce for their Stirling work as curators a massive thank you from me and all the boys.

This group of young men surpassed my expectations in all areas last season. It continues to be such a joy to coach when young men listen, absorb, attempt and discover. The improvement in skills and progress witnessed is one of the joys of coaching but nothing beats a team achieving a visible unity of togetherness. I saw both these areas thrive with this group as a mantra of 100% encouragement player to player was adhered to. A creed of no blame or moaning was demanded and a challenge to each individual to 'think like a winner and behave like a leader' regularly promoted.

This meant a selfless wonderful spirit was always nearly on display and the care and encouragement to a team mate who had misfielded could be seen and heard from the boundary. Well done on this vital area boys as attitude and effort is not just about batting and bowling.

The attitude and effort to all things I asked of you was excellent and I could not have been happier of having the challenge of 'development first' ahead of winning understood. This meant losing some points in the South Perth fixture for having a slow over rate but it is surely more important to have the bowlers bowl off their normal run-up and give the captain the time to get his field right in his first game in charge. An excellent victory was savoured and the batting by Nick Cane (71) crucial.

Opportunities are never fair in sport and more so in cricket. seeing the improvement in Mitch Rep who had it so tough with opportunity in 2016/17 but has kept the desire and rightly gained a spot up the top of the order. Learning the importance of playing the ball late a key for Mitch. He made some runs in 3rd and 4th grade also. He is a handy leg spinner an art that will test his resolve and a difficult art to master on its own. To give the necessary work to it and the necessary work to becoming a batsman is the toughest of all allrounder roles but what a fantastic challenge to take on. Learning how to be mentally strong and working on it this early to cope with the ups and downs that will come is invaluable. Being mentally strong to feel acceptance and not frustration is a vital area. This is why coaching the mental skills abilities side of cricket is important. This is why we spent the time discussing visualisation. Picturing a shot before running a two at practice is important. To have young men attentive to learning the power of controlling their thoughts to rule their emotional state was a pleasure to witness. To hear the involvement when Jacob and Cam were sharing their visualising moments of "did you have a helmet on" and who visualised in colour or black and white.? Who visualised from above or were you in the batting crease.

If you think something is going to be difficult it will be. You absolutely have more chance of achieving a challenge if you believe and think you will do so. This can help reduce nerves and be a key component in a player making the most of his skill set. I hope some of this group have felt some discovery from our time together, a far better emotion than confusion.

To learn to relish a challenge not fear it is down to how we think. To create an emotion of acceptance and ban the feeling of frustration before re-joining the playing group having been dismissed was discussed at all opportunities.

To see a group of young men all standing eyes closed deep in thought trying to play an innings in their mind was a truly touching moment in my coaching life. As important as the press-up test pre-season that was also impressive to witness.

I hope the grounding of this style of culture stays with the players moving on to seniors and that all players understand they influence so much by their energy. Your attitude being the most important belonging packed in your kit bag every time you practice or play for Subi Floreat.

Nick continued his good start to the season with scores of 73 and 70 following his fine 71.302 runs at 37 was a good effort and won the batting award decided by highest aggregate runs in U17's games only. I look forward to the season the dream start continues and a plus 50 average is achieved. It is in you Nick. I applaud your commitment and dedication. There will be more 20/20 cricket in the years to come and I look forward to the day also that Nick shines in this format and allows himself to bat with no fear of getting out. Sometimes a cricketer can care too much and it inhibits their dominance. One of the beauties of coaching is trying to help a player get the most out of his unique skill set. You must work out who needs to be encouraged to increase their risk level and be more expansive and who needs to reign it in a little more.

Cam Geddes is our international hockey player batting at # 4 and a stylish left hander. Learning your own strengths and weaknesses and applying them to be consistent is a test for all batsman. When Cam started the season with a debut 50 in seniors he would have felt good. A frustrating time followed and the game becomes harder to enjoy when a player knows he is under achieving for his ability. Well done on fronting up with determination and accepting the challenge of batting in the nets with " if you’re out your net is over" placed on you. The only time I have resorted to experimenting with it. Cam played that way against Scarborough until we were home and then unleashed his fury and smashed boundary after boundary and made 73 of the smartest team runs. Batted on green (no risk) and after victory red zone batting (high risk), was only yellow (some risk, greater intent to score than green zone) because he was in and seeing it big.

In one-day cricket, batsmen should be batting on yellow most of the time after having a few green balls at the start of your innings if the situation permits.

Against Midland, Cam made a majestic 69 off 47 balls with 7x4 and 3x6's as the team won with 17 balls to spare chasing 131 in the last 20/20 fixture. Cam also showed some natural brilliance with the gloves on.

Jaxon his elder brother was at the crease with Cam and hit a six to seal the victory and made 19 not out. It didn't quite eclipse his 20 off 9 balls to take the side home v centurions. His fast hands and bat speed a vital part of his technique and example to others on how to generate power in the shorter form of the game. (NB Chris Lyn- bat speed, front foot nowhere near the line of the ball) Jaxon also made scores or 44,54 and 43 in a fine final season of juniors. His fielding is electric at times with his speed and Usain Bolt like. His catching not quite as assured YET. Congratulations also Jaxon on making a hundred for Wembley v Subi Marist and good luck for the challenges to come. Your attitude surpassed your fielding which was 9/10 and you should feel very proud of that.

Charlie is another whose attitude is of the highest calibre and has such a bright future because of that. His improvement with the ball is down to his tenacity. His 31 off 25 balls v centurions with a cracking six over long on was a standout moment.

Jacob Van was given the task of hitting the ball with firmer wrists before a spot up the order could be offered. Well done on a huge improvement in this crucial technical change. Still a way to go to give yourself the best chance to realise your obvious ability. 10 wkts at 21 and a very good slower ball in your repertoire shows a genuine all-rounder in the making because 51 off 29 balls is a rare feat for the best of batsman anywhere. Jacob batted 4 vs Scarborough.

Rob Powell is off to seniors where he has already impressed with his attitude. Lovely to hear that from the 2nd grade captain who is a good judge of character and spoke glowingly of Rob's fielding.

We lose Ranoul as another fantastic young man graduates to seniors. His 20 opening the batting v Scarborough showed courage and composure. His late blocking is as good as anyone's and the most important shot to stay in and be involved in partnerships. He took 19 wickets for the season, 9 in 4th grade. His fielding improved noticeably.

Michael Humpreyson was the leading wicket taker with 20 wickets @ 18-5. A whole-hearted bowler who rises to the occasion. Thank you for your example and commitment to ask advice. Michael always informed me when he was trying a Yorker or slower ball because I asked him to. That is a delight for a coach and so helpful in judging a bowler’s accuracy. Otherwise, how does a coach know if a bowler meant it or fluked it missing his attempted target length by 5 metres.

With the new boy and late recruit Calum Stevenson always keeping it tight as 75 overs 12 wickets for 208 runs at 17.33 shows and sharing the new ball with Michael, and available all the time as non-PSA it was a determining factor in the sides final position of 3rd from 16 teams. Calum made 20 not out and took 3-13 off 12 overs in a man of match performance v Mt Lawley in round 3.

Connor Gent is also a full-time senior now with very good pace. He has already performed well in 3rd grade. Pace alone will get a player so far but the very best have accuracy above all else and move the ball sideways as this is a test for even the best batsmen. Connor should know by now the areas he must pay more attention to. If he does, keeps his strength work up and takes wickets then playing 2nd grade is a good possibility next season.

Andrew was amazing as a leader and player. A sign of a good all-rounder is to have a higher batting average than your . Andrew took 17 wickets @ 15.59 and averaged 15.9 with the bat. He is now a genuine allrounder to go with being a genuine top man. 5-5 off 12 overs and a 37 not out off 17 balls the highlights of this young man with such a good head on his shoulders and huge love of cricket. His voice on the phone telling me he took 8-43 in 3rd grade still brings tears of joy to my eyes. A golden moment for me Andy...thank you. Well captained also. You spoke with confident assurance always and you make me proud every week with your attitude and care for others. You have been unlucky not to have made state trials and I did point you out when the relevant WACA man was at our training and informed him of your 8-43. He watched your next ball bowled which went two feet down the legside, did not spin and was arguably the worst ball I have seen you ever bowl. I know you understand that your self- esteem is not fuelled by winning matches and performing well but by your attitude and effort. Keep looking in the mirror at the end of each day and seeing a man who is looking back knowing he did his best every ball. Your self-esteem will I believe be full always Andy as you get this and you take winning and losing in a similar vein. Keep that mature attitude. You inspire me to be a better coach and person by your

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.) behaviour. Congratulations on being player of the season. I hope to see you play for 20 more years and win lots of awards because you typify what a sportsman should play for. The fun of the game. Don't let anyone ever tell you that you only enjoy it when you win.

Finally, a young man who also performed in a fashion to admire was Ethan. Goodness me he enjoys batting. It can't be easy keeping your coordination also when growing more than an inch per month. Ethan plays the ball late. He has taught himself implicitly and is difficult to bowl at. He has the game to score runs when others can't because of how late he decides what shot to play and let's the ball come to him. We had a day of practice dedicated to Ethan's late playing of the ball and practiced accordingly. He had just made 77 opening in 3rd grade out of 112 off the bat, getting the side to victory. That's 68% of the runs Ethan made. That’s like making 200 chasing a score of 290 on a good batting wicket. I will always remember how humble and tired Ethan looked after Day 1.

He had just had a run of form so prolific, with scores of 55, 66,51,69 and 77 in a row for the club, super stuff. Then three ducks in a row followed soon after with the game showing it can be a great leveller, but 52 in the WACA U16 talent carnival was a special achievement for a young man who slipped through the Hale selectors’ judgement. Dealt with that disappointment and thrived on playing juniors and seniors instead.

Congratulations to Ethan and Nick on selection in the talent carnival and the WACA U17 development squad.

To Jason who was super keen but did not get a game. Thank you for your efforts and good luck wherever you go. To Bray, Ross, Max, Luke, Griff, Will, our success this year could not have been achieved without your efforts.

Finally, I thank the committee for giving me the responsibility of coaching this age group. I am honoured to coach at Subiaco Floreat and cherish my roles enormously. I was asked to write a report on the season but an opportunity to perhaps inspire and talk about this fascinating sport must be taken.

Under 15s Report

What a privilege it was for me to coach the U15s this year (thanks Scully for the opportunity and vote of confidence). I am immensely proud of what the boys achieved having finished on top of the ladder. Whilst we lost the semi and preliminary finals to Midland Guildford and Willetton, it was always going to be a considerable challenge having lost a number of quality players through injury and school commitments. Whilst we had a talented list of individuals, to win a flag requires more than that. We worked really hard on creating a positive culture and a “team first” attitude, which became evident time and time again. It was really pleasing to see all players embracing a number of different roles over the course of the season. This resulted in real depth to our squad, something that was really needed in the latter half of the season. At the start of the season, we set ourselves a goal to play entertaining cricket. This encouraged the players to stretch themselves, play without fear and see what they were capable of. Statistically speaking, this resulted in the team scoring the most runs of any team in the competition and we also won all four of our T20 games. It was also really good fun……ultimately the reason why we play this great game. I would like to make mention of our leadership group, Tatenda Makova, Matt Sculthorpe and Tom Murray. It was important that they were given the opportunity to make their own decisions within the constraints of a broad game plan each week. Whilst it was a small step in a long journey towards becoming accomplished leaders, each showed in different ways, that they have immense potential in this regard. There were of course some fantastic individual performances. Matt Sculthorpe was outstanding throughout, finishing with a bowling average of less than 6 and taking 21 wickets with best figures of 4 for 2 from 5 overs and 5 for 7 from 6 overs versus South Perth. On a number of occasions, it became clear that he is a step above any other bowler in the state at this age. Nathan Bothma hits the ball harder than most senior players. His bat speed is very impressive and I have no doubt this will take him a long way. Nathan’s 85 runs off 45 balls versus Joondalup in a T20 was just one of a number of innings where he took the game away from the opposition and entertained his teammates and spectators. To put this in context, Nathan hit 27 sixes during the regular season. Other special mentions include Tatenda Makova’s 110 versus Gosnells, Fin Moloney’s classy 83 versus Mt Lawley and Riley Waters 5 for 37 versus Perth. Both Joey Betts and Tom Murray also regularly passed 50 and showed just how good they are. I would also like to congratulate Matt Sculthorpe and Tom Murray for being selected in the WA 15s side (along with Riley Waters as a reserve). To add to this achievement, Matt and Tom were also Captain and Vice-captain respectively on their tour to the eastern states. To the guys who might not be considered “star” players (yet), a coach could not have asked for a better attitude or effort. Aim high and keep working hard. I look forward to seeing this talent being unlocked from a number of these players in the coming years. Last but not least, thanks to Jon Gregory, Jason Osborne, Ronan Murray and a great bunch of parents who made coaching a pleasure.

Under 14’s Report (McKenzie Shield)

This season was one of significant improvement for the Under 14s, taking what they learned in Under 13s last year, adding to it and using that experience, knowledge and skill to significantly improve their standing in the competition.

We started the season with a very meritorious effort against last season’s Grand Finalists in Bayswater- Morley. We took 8 wickets and restricted them to 161 off 49 overs, highlighted by 3 for 21 off 10 overs from Spencer Bluntish. Then, despite some early wobbles, we got very close to knocking them off ending with 8 for 152 of our 49 overs. This innings was highlighted by a quite remarkable innings of 81 not out, off just 78 balls by Zak Beattie. More on him later.

Although we didn’t win, that game gave us a huge boost and set us up to approach the remainder of the season with real confidence and an expectation to win games and perform at a high level.

We built on that platform with an excellent win in our next game against Mt Lawley, which further highlighted how far the boys had come. We played Mt Lawley twice in Under 13s and while both games were close, we lost both times. This season, we put together a solid total of 4 for 150 off our 49 overs thanks to good contributions from Alex Beattie and Blake Davies and another fine innings of 60 from Zak Beattie. We then proceeded to knock them over for just 96 inside 44 overs thanks to a strong team effort from the bowling group, highlighted by 3 for 7 off 5 overs by Henry Vaughn.

Unfortunately, it all came crashing down in the next game against Scarborough, the eventual winners of the competition. Our only highlight from that game was the absolute peach of a from Michael Reynolds, which clipped the top of the off stump of the boy who went on to be the top run scorer in the league for the season.

From there, we got back on the horse and strung together three very competitive efforts against Wanneroo, Joondalup and Midland-Guildford. We were in winning positions in each of these games at different times, but unfortunately, we just didn’t quite manage to find the killer blows at the right times.

Notable performances through these games included 63 not out by Blake Davies against Wanneroo, strong team bowling performances that saw us take 10 and 9 wickets against Wanneroo and Midland- Guildford and a fighting 35 from Sam Vucak at Midland, a good effort considering he went in with the score at 3 for 9.

These were competitive efforts, but we needed a couple of wins to really demonstrate how much we had improved from last season and those wins came in the next two games. A comfortable win over Centurions in Joondalup was followed by another Sam Vucak lead recovery mission against Perth. His terrific knock of 58 gave us a total to defend and we did better than that, knocking them over for 114, Jamie Williams starring with 4 for 23 off his 9 overs.

We couldn’t quite make it 3 in a row in the final fixture against Joondalup, but once again we were very competitive and were in a winning position midway through the afternoon. The highlight of this game was a break-out innings of 59 from Jackson Schulze.

The end result of the season was a mid-table finish which was an improvement on last year, but also shows that further improvement is required if we are to beat some of the top teams in the competition.

Season 2017/18 41st Annual Report Page 23

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.)

It was a team effort throughout and we had a range of contributors over the course of the season, but it would be remiss of me not to make mention of the season put together by Zak Beattie.

In nine games, he amassed 367 runs at an average of 61.2 including 4 scores in excess of 50 and one of 49 not out. This put him 5th in the competition for both aggregate runs and batting average. It was a wonderful season and one that he is to be congratulated on.

Once again, it was an extremely enjoyable season for me. This is a great group of kids to be part of and I look forward to continuing to help them and watching them continue to improve. I sincerely hope to watch many of them turn out for the SFCC senior teams in years to come.

Lastly, I would like to thank Tom Wilson for his efforts as assistant coach, the whole parent group for their support throughout the season and in particular, Kate Haynes for her efforts again this season as our Team Manager.

Tim Beattie – Coach

Under 13s’ Report (Inverarity Shield)

It’s rare that a 13’s junior side retains so many players from the year before and the squad looked to blend this experience with additional skills from new recruits like the exciting Fraser Hyatt and Thomas Hopwood. There was much expected of this talented player group but all too often the boys couldn’t quite capitalise on their opportunities. There were only the two victories in the season, but these were enough to keep the team away from the bottom of the ladder and to demonstrate that there is still much to look forward to from this side as they grow in confidence.

The undoubted highlight of the season was Ethan Barbieri’s development as an all-rounder, which resulted in him being deservedly selected for the inaugural WA State 13’s Development Squad. Ethan was the league’s 6th highest run scorer for the season with 263 runs and never failed to deliver when the team needed him. He was also the side’s equal leading wicket taker with 9 wickets, even more impressive a feat as he was bowling leg-spin for the first time. In addition, the tireless Matthew Quadrio bowled without the wickets he deserved but he was selected to play for the WA U’12’s side in the national School Sports Australia tournament in Victoria.

Although the statistics show that the side took the least number of wickets in the league, certain bowlers improved greatly and Jack Foster’s 9 wickets could have easily been many more. By the end of the season he showed himself to be the team’s leading bowler and his left arm pace bowling promises much for the future. When combined with Jack’s dynamic batting and electric fielding, the youngest member of the Foster cricketing dynasty will also be one to watch for the future. Jack Beggs offers a great deal with both bat and ball and is a player of profound talent and potential who promises to become an excellent player in the coming years. Lleyton Ardagh developed into an excellent wicketkeeper who also offers a fine batting technique and Eamonn Murray showed at times that he has immense all-round talent.

The attitude from all the boys and parents was excellent and there is every reason to believe that players such as Riley Disisto, Jack Cooper, Xavier Binning and Finlay Chivers will rise to the occasion next season. Injuries and other sporting commitments robbed us of Christian Helberg and James Newton for parts of the season and I’d like to wish them both well as they pursue other sporting interests going forward. Both

George Sculthorpe and Lachlan Cattalini gained invaluable experience and will be very strong leaders for the 13’s next season as they remain with their own age group.

Female A Grade Report

This season saw glimpses of our up and coming stars and future leaders of the club. With a large number of junior players stepping up into the A Grade side each week, they proved they are more than capable of playing at the highest level. Many young players became a reliable “go-to” player, with consistent performances occurring.

We had a new coaching set-up with James Sansalone and Aaron Lily taking the reins for the first time. Aaron provided valuable 1-on-1 coaching for the girls at training and Jimmy gave above and beyond to the squad. Taking on the Female Head Coach/Coordinator position, Jimmy allowed us as players to focus purely on cricket. The two guys have been a breath of fresh air for us this season and we cannot thank them enough!

The T20 format saw Madonna Blyth take the field for the first time in SFCC colours, scoring 16(22). We welcomed back Tash Farrant for a few games, where she took 2/14 off 4 in Rd 2 & 2/18 off 4 in Rd 6. Young gun Millie Monaghan bagged 3/22 off 4 and Megan Banting scored 45(42) to help us over the line in Rd 3. Finally, Emily Johnston reminded us she’s still got it taking 4/23 off 4 in the last round.

Fifty over cricket provided opportunity for everyone at some stage. Lizzie Alderson the ultimate professional did it again in Rd 1 - 48(62) & 42(124) in Rd 8. In the brief appearances for Heather Graham she starred with 60(67) in Rd 7 & 49(48) in Rd 9. Jackie Naidoo is going to be unstoppable in the future, taking 4/24 off 7 (Rd 3) & 3/25 off 6 (Rd 7). Sam Quadrio proved herself as well, taking 3/33 off 10 in Rd 4. Regulars Jess Emery (2/27 in Rd 9), Lauren Nicholson (32 in Rd 4) & Lucy Curtin (44 in Rd 2) provided great stability as always for the juniors. However, hands down the highlight of our year for A Grade was Megan Banting’s dominance with the bat. She scored 114(129) in Rd 2, 122(60) in Rd 4 and 105(110) in Rd 9. It was a pleasure to watch and we know there are more tons to come!

Finishing 4th (out of 5) in both formats unfortunately again doesn’t portray the great potential in our young and talented group. Positively though, with so many new faces stepping into the mighty yellow and maroon over the last few seasons, we are gaining crucial experience within our squad each and every match.

A special mention to Jimmy Sansalone and Megan Banting for their endless efforts behind the scenes each week. Jess Emery, Lucy Curtin, Shenae Reichelt and Emily Johnston also can’t go unnoticed, assisting with the admin and logistics with minimal complaints. Of course, thank you to our #1 supporter John, you mean the world to us. We were also beyond excited to hear the news at the end of the season about the two lioness/lion cubs on the way. A big congratulations to Kel McGhie and Jess Whiteaker, we can’t wait to see the little ones in yellow!

Thank you to SFCC and the committee for your continued support towards both our female teams. In particular we’d like to point out Larry Davies, Sam Pearce, Stuart McKenzie and Glyn O’Brien. The success we’ve achieved as a group this season is a testament to your ongoing investment into female cricket.

Female B Grade Report

After a strong season in both formats in the 2016/17 season a solid playing group had been established ready to take on the new season. The 2017/18 season was the most successful season for the B Grade team in the 4 years it has been in the WACA Premier Competition. The team finished with six wins in the 40 over competition, finishing 3rd on the ladder and seven wins in the 20 over competition which was capped off with the B-Grade T20 Premiership. The team showed exceptional character, enthusiasm and Subi spirit throughout the season and were a delight to take the field with each week.

Acknowledgement must go to James Sansalone and Aaron Lily for taking the reins at the start of the season and giving the playing group some true direction and guidance throughout the season. By having such direction and leadership from James in particular, it allowed our players to focus more time on their own preparations and performances.

The 2017/18 season saw a number of youth age players play in the B-Grade side and being strong contributors to the team’s success. A strong example of this was when the side bowled Midland-Guildford out in the grand final for just 38 runs and 9 of those wickets were taken by players under 18. Highlight bowling performances came from Jackie Naidoo 4/7 and Ayla Meinjentes 3/4.

Throughout the season there were some stand out performances with the bat and ball.

T20

Jackie Naidoo 4/3 (round 9 v Rockingham-Mandurah), Millie Monaghan 3/1 (round 10 v University), Jackie Naidoo 4/7 (GF v Midland-Guildford), Ayla Meinjentes 3/4 (GF v Midland Guildford).

Kathryn Hudson 30 (round 1 v Melville), Olivia Purnell 41 (round 3 v South Perth), Lizzy Alderson 45 (round 6 v Melville), Emily Johnston 41 (round 8 v South Perth).

40 Over

Olivia Bunter 3/7 (round 1 v South Perth), Sophie Fletcher 5/19 (round 2 v Midland Guildford), Kellie McGhie 3/32 (round 6 v South Perth), Jackie Naidoo 3/5 (round 10 v Rockingham Mandurah).

Emily Johnston 93 (round 5 v Rockingham Mandurah), Olivia Purnell 46 (round 5 v Rockingham Mandurah), Ayla Meijentes 60 (round 6 v South Perth), Lucy Curtin 61 (round 8 v Melville), Lucy Curtin 64 (round 10 v Rockingham Mandurah).

I look forward to the 2018/19 season where we will hope to build on this season’s success and challenge for some 40 over silverware to compliment out T20 silverware.

SUBIACO FLOREAT CRICKET CLUB (Inc.)

Club History The Subiaco Floreat Cricket Club was formed in 1977 when the Subiaco and Floreat Park clubs merged.

1900 to 1949 A cricket club in the Subiaco area was first formed in 1896 and played in the Senior Matting Association based at the Shenton Park Lake ground. In 1907-08 the Subiaco Club was admitted to the WACA A Grade competition but after two seasons were relegated to B Grade. During this time the Club moved to the newly developed Mueller Park in Subiaco where at the western end (later Subiaco Oval) they shared the playing fields with the Subiaco Football Club.

In the 1910-11 season, Subiaco combined with fellow B Grade team; Whittaker’s and was re-admitted to A Grade as the Subiaco Cricket Club. The following season Subiaco merged with the neighbouring Leederville club to form the Subiaco-Leederville Cricket Club and played under this name until 1930-31, when they reverted to Subiaco Cricket Club.

By this time Mueller Parker had been renamed Subiaco Oval and from 1929-30 the Club enjoyed sustained success winning six premierships in the 17 seasons until 1946-47. Many Subiaco players from this era represented , in the days before WA was admitted into the Sheffield Shield competition. Future Prime Minister, R.J. Hawke, played for the Club in the post-war years.

1950 to 1977 The Subiaco Club did not enjoy team success during the 1950’s and 1960’s finishing runner-up twice and making the finals one other time. The highlight for the Club from this era was Jack Rutherford being the first Western Australian to be selected for Australia on a major tour and the first to be capped when he was included in the Australian side which visited England, India, and Pakistan in 1956. Rutherford’s single test was against India in Bombay.

In 1965-66 the Subiaco Club left Subiaco Oval and moved to Rosalie Park on the west side of Thomas Street. Jim Hubble became the Club’s second Australian representative, touring South Africa in the summer of 1966-67, playing in nine matches, but not in the Tests. During the 1960’s former England player Tony Lock played for the Club.

The Floreat Park Cricket Club was formed in the post-war years. In the 1959-60 season, Floreat Park was admitted into the WACA completion as a 2nd Grade club fielding teams in the lower grades only. Talented Floreat Park juniors seeking to play 1st Grade invariably moved to the neighbouring Subiaco Club. Notable Floreat Park juniors who made the move to Subiaco were , and Sam Gannon who all played Tests for Australia.

The recruitment of former Australian player Des Hoare as Captain-Coach in the late 1960’s saw the Subiaco Club play in the finals four times in seven years, winning Premierships in 1971-72 and 1973-74. However while the Subiaco Club was competitive at 1st Grade level, a small district and declining junior player numbers saw the Subiaco Club merge with the 2nd Grade Floreat Park Club. The Club was named Subiaco Floreat Cricket Club and commenced playing in the 1977-78 season.

The last match played between the two clubs was the 1976-77 4th grade grand final where the Subiaco 4th’s captained by future President Larry Davies triumphed.

The amalgamation was a true merger with administrators and players from both Clubs sharing the roles. The new Club’s headquarters was Floreat Oval, with Rosalie Park retained as the second ground (until 1981) along with Floreat’s Alderbury Street Reserve. Subiaco’s Lion emblem and gold and maroon colours were combined with the royal blue of Floreat Park, but there was no room for the Floreat Park grey.

1977 to 1999 WA Parliamentarian Ray Young was the inaugural President and Jim Hubble the inaugural Captain of Subiaco Floreat and Terry Alderman returned to Floreat Oval but the first season did not bring instant success. During the following three season the Club were runners-up twice and semi-finalists once, as well as being Club Champions in 1978-79. All-rounder, Graeme Porter played for Australia in the 1979 World Cup.

1st grade success was finally achieved in the 1987-88 where a strong squad including Test players Terry Alderman and alongside present or future 1st class players Giles Bush, Todd Breman, Peter Gonnella and Glenn Hughes won the first 1st grade flag for the amalgamated Club and the ninth overall.

In 1983-84 future cricket broadcaster Glenn Mitchell, captained the Colts undefeated for nine matches to capture the Club’s first Colts Premiership.

The 1980’s decade was overall successful, in addition to the 1st grade and Colts, the Club also won a 2nd grade and a 3rd grade flag, while the 4ths won a hat-trick of flags under the wily leadership of club stalwart Alan Bolton.

The 1990’s were fairly lean for the 1st grade with only three final appearances. However this decade saw the debut of Bunbury junior, Murray Goodwin, who would go on to play for his native Zimbabwe. In 1990-91 all four senior sides qualified for the finals and the Club was once again Club Champion. The lower grades continued to be successful in this decade, the 2nds and 4ths both won two flags each as did the Colts. The 1997-98 Colts were captained by Steven Glew in his first of seven Premierships for the Club.

2000 onwards The 21st Century began with a bang. Under the inspiring leadership of fast bowler Gavin Swan, the 1st grade team won three successive premierships from 2000-01. The 1sts competed in the finals in eight times in the first decade of the new century. The dominance of the 1st grade team in this period saw the Club also claim the Club Championship in successive seasons 2000-01 and 2001-02. The Colts added three more flags to their collection, while the 3rds with two flags and the 4ths with one continued the success of the lower grade teams. In the One Day Sunday League competition, the Club finally found a winning formula, winning titles in 2004-05 and 2008-09.

Success continued into the 2010’s. Under David Bolton the 1st grade did the “double”, winning both the Pennant competition and the One Day League in 2010-11. The following season, the Club finished runners-up after losing a close grand final. The 1st grade bowling attack was particularly strong with fast bowlers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Jason Behrendorff operating. Coulter-Nile has gone on to represent both WA and Australia while Behrendorff debuted for WA in 2011.

The 3rd grade won a flag in 2012-13 and in the following season with Noel Knight returning to the Club as Head Coach the 1st grade once again won the Sunday League Championship

2014/15 saw the Club expand when the local WA Female Cricket Council A and B grade teams elected to join Subiaco Floreat. It was a homecoming of sorts, as back in the 1970’s the Subiaco men’s and women’s cricket clubs shared the facilities at Rosalie Park. The ladies made an immediate impact, winning the T20 final at the WACA ground.

Season 2016-17 saw Chris Hansberry lead the First Grade team to a premiership, with gritty victories against top teams Fremantle and Claremont in the semi-finals before a memorable victory over Joondalup in the grand final. Cameron Green also made his debut for Western Australia.
