4th May 2018

Dear Parent

Second Round Allocation of Places to St Bede’s Catholic College September 2018

As St Bede’s Catholic College is over-subscribed the criteria published in the Governors’ Admissions Policy have been applied to allocate the 207 places that are available.

In the first round of offers all applications received by Governors and the Local Authority by the published deadline of 31st October 2017, falling into priority 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 were offered places. There were no applications within priority 1, 7 or 9. Offers were made to 4 applicants in priority 8 drawn by random allocation. In addition, places have been reserved for 4 pupils with a statement of Special Educational Need/Education, Health and Care Plan. In total, 203 offers were made.

Since the first round of offers 3 parents have declined the place, giving Governors the opportunity to make further offers. These places have now been given to applicants in priority 3 who were unable to provide evidence in accordance with our admissions policy before the first round of offers were made.

The remaining applicants falling into priorities 3, 8 and 10 unfortunately have not been successful at this stage. I know this will cause disappointment and some anxiety.

The college is happy to receive calls from parents who have been unsuccessful in this round if they wish to know the priority in which their application has been placed.

On the reverse of this letter you will find information on how to appeal the decision of the Governing Body. If you would like to exercise this right, the completed form and a letter (if you so wish) detailing the grounds of the appeal, should be received at the college by 23rd May, 2018, addressed to the Clerk of Governors.

Yours sincerely

C.Walker
