s1mple and NaVi joins BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen Oct 09, 2018 13:28 UTC Major Final rematch: NaVi completes world class line-up in BLAST Copenhagen Major finalists NaVi has today been announced as the 6th and final team for BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen, November 2nd and 3rd 2018. This completes the line-up of world class Counter-Strike teams to battle it out live on the iconic triangular BLAST stage in front of 12,000 enthusiastic fans in Copenhagen’s Royal Arena. The Ukrainians will face Swedish giants NiP, the international star squad of FaZe Clan, US based Cloud9 who won the first 2018 Major, Brazilian superstars MIBR and the reigning Major Champions, BLAST Champions and world’s number 1 Astralis. It will be the first time NaVi and Astralis face off since the Grand Final of the FACEIT Major in London’s Wembley Arena. The two teams top the world rankings, their star players fight to become Player of the Year 2018 and now they will battle it out in front of a completely packed Royal Arena. NaVistar player, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is thrilled to play BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen: - The world’s best teams will attend BLAST Pro Series in Copenhagen and I really like the format, which means we’ll be sure to face all teams live on stage. There are a lot of different things going on, and I think the 1v1 Stand- Off, which is played before the Grand Final is a great invention too. - It is our first time playing a BLAST Pro Series and it will be fun to play on the iconic BLAST stage in front of 12,000 fans. I look very much forward playing in front of the fans in Copenhagen, “s1mple” comments. Star players everywhere you turn NaVi’s “s1mple” and Astralis’ “dev1ce” have certainly been dominant in 2018, however, a long range of Counter-Strike’s other superstars will join them on the BLAST stage in Copenhagen. FaZe, MIBR, Astralis and NaVi all have several players in Top 10 and star players like “NiKo” (FaZe) and “FalleN” (MIBR) will certainly challenge “dev1ce” and “s1mple” to win the official BLAST MVP trophy. Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Astralis, comments: - With the addition of NaVi, we have the world’s best teams playing in Copenhagen and due to the format, all teams will meet. There is no “luck” or “misfortune” in BLAST, it’s all about preparation, quality and being the best team you can be on the day. - I didn’t play the first BLAST in Royal Arena, but I got a taste of what it is all about in Istanbul, where we won in front of a great crowd. There will be twice as many spectators in Copenhagen, and it will be insane to play in front of so many fans in Royal Arena. - We have had a good run with Astralis in 2018 and BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen is the second big goal for our fall season, but there are so many good players and teams on that stage, anything can truly happen. We will have to perform to our very best to take home the trophy, but nobody will not perform to their best in that arena. The fans will blow the roof off! The tournament will be played on 2nd and 3rd November with the decisive groups stage matches and Grand Finals played live in Royal Arena on 3rd November. 10.500 tickets have been sold and it is expected that the event will be sold out within days. Tickets for the arena event on 3rd November are available ticketmaster.dk/blast Contacts FREDERIKKE EMILY WACKER Press Contact Head of PR [email protected] 31414081.
