1294 John de Walton obtains a grant of “free warren” (right to hunt Edward I 1272-1307 royal game) in Nether Court.

1304/5 John dies leaving a daughter and heir Joan who is still a minor. Nether Court’s overlord Gilbert de Clare is also a minor, so Joan is put in the custody of King Edward. Edward II 1307-27 1337 Joan releases all her rights in Nether Court to Eleanor (widow Edward III 1327-77 of Sir Guy Ferre) and John de Bray.

Before 1348 Nether Court passes to John Delamare.

Unknown Nether Court is placed in the hands of trustees: John de Hwyteclve (vicar), Robert Bonere (parson) and Richard Trewe (of Chelsham).

1363 The trustees convey Nether Court to Sir Thomas (3rd son of John de Uvedale).

1364 Sir Thomas is sent by King Edward to the Count of Flanders in order to arrange the marriage of Edmund, Earl of Cambridge (King Edward’s son) to Margaret (the Count’s daughter and widow of the Duke of Bourgogne).

1367 Sir Thomas is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament for Surrey then dies leaving a son and heir John.

1387 John serves as High Sheriff of Hampshire. Richard II 1377-1399

1393 John serves as High Sheriff of Surrey.

1399 John serves as High Sheriff of Hampshire. Henry IV 1399-1413

1407 John serves as High Sheriff of Hampshire.

1411/3 John is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament Henry V 1413-22 for Hampshire.

1413 John is appointed a Justice of the Peace in Hampshire.

1414 John serves as High Sheriff of Hampshire.

1416 John serves as High Sheriff of Surrey and . John is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament for Hampshire.

1429 John is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament for Hampshire.

1433 John serves as High Sheriff of Hampshire.

1436 John enjoys an annual income of £173. He makes a loan of £30 to the Crown for the war effort in France.

1440 John dies leaving a son and heir Sir Thomas.

1455-1487 War of the Roses Edward IV 1461-70 1471-83

1473 Sir Thomas settles (places in trust) Nether Court on himself and his fourth wife Elizabeth for their lives with the remainder (after their deaths) to their son William. Edward V 1483 Before 1488 Sir Thomas dies and Nether Court is retained by Elizabeth. Richard III 1483-5 Elizabeth owes service to Edward, Duke of Buckingham.

1488 Elizabeth dies. William has pre-deceased her so Nether Court Henry VII 1485-1509 passes to her second son Robert.

Unknown Robert settles Nether Court on his wife Elizabeth for her life Henry VIII 1509-47 with the remainder to Arthur Uvedale (the grandson of his stepbrother William).

1528 Arthur sells the reversion of Nether Court to John Gresham of . Later he releases all his rights to Nether Court to William, John and and the heirs of John.

1534 The Act of Supremacy – Church of Edward VI 1547-53 Mary I 1553-58 1588/9 John’s grandson William conveys what would have been Elizabeth I 1558-1603 Nether Court to Richard Hayward.
