The objectives of Community Toilets are to introduce a new way of providing public toilet facilities across the borough; this is done by funding local businesses to offer free access to their toilet facilities to members of the public. Details of pick-up points are given in the programme. Coral is taking the bookings and the price is £15pp. Our footpath secretary Joan has been talking to her opposite number James Rose at Havering Council in an effort to get Havering’s Definitive Footpath maps updated. The eventual aim is to digitalise these maps and make them available online to all walkers and the public at large. As a first step in the process we are looking for clerical volunteers to spend time working under supervision in James’ office at Langtons checking footpath documentation going back to 1971. Ideally we need 6 – 8 people who are prepared to commit to helping for one or two morning or afternoon sessions in July or August. This is a task that needs to be done for the benefit of a great number of current and future walkers.
