At the same time he was commissioned to accompany his uncle, Suffragan Bishop Maximilian Gereon, Count von Galen, on his journeys to conduct confirmations. In 1906 he became chaplain of St Matthias’ Church in Berlin. This was for him the beginning of 23 years of pastoral work in the capital of the Reich. After several years as curate of St Clement’s he was appointed parish priest of St Matthias in 1919. In Berlin he lived through the difficult times of the First World War, the troubled post-war period and a great part of the Weimar Republic. Great demands were made upon him by the diaspora situation in Berlin. In 1929 Clemens August von Galen was called back into the diocese of Münster and appointed parish priest of St Lambert’s Church in Münster. After the death of Bishop Johannes Poggenburg, Clemens August von Galen was made Bishop of Münster.

CRA/Developer – update a. Liz Keel of the Maumee Valley Planning Organization convened the meeting at 3:05 p.m. Liz began the meeting with an update within the CRA areas. Jerry Hayes, Defiance County Economic Development, has shown several lots within the CRA areas for development of a market rate apartment complex of approximately 30 units. The developer would like to locate in an opportunity zone, and is interested in the Hammersmith, Northtowne Mall, and Maumee River Crossing areas. The developer plans to return to visit these sites. b. Rita Kissner provided an overview of the recently held Small Business Symposium. Rita reported that the symposium was well-attended, and that Jerry explained the CRA areas and their benefits during his presentation. The City is still in the process of completing the new CRA brochure. 2. Rent Smart – update Angie Franklin, NOCAC, gave an update on the Rent Smart program. • The third session of Tenant Classes is scheduled for 09/28, 09/29, & 09/30 - 6pm -8pm at the Dream Center. Enrollment goal is 10 participants. • Other sessions were completed in March and June of 2020 o A total of 20 participants enrolled o 9 participants completed all sessions and received the Rent Smart Certificate.

The business is located on Third Street between Galvez and Hudson avenues in the Bayview neighborhood. The building is designated as San Francisco Landmark #263 for its association with the live and work of Sam Jordan. Through Jordan’s advocacy and leadership, the bar was used to support the educational, economic, political, and cultural vitality of the Bayview’s African American community by hosting scholarship fundraisers, hosting African American businessmen’s luncheons, political brainstorming sessions, and the Black Panther Breakfast Program that provided hot meals to school children. Cultural events at the bar highlighted local musicians as well as famous musical performers including Ike and Tina Turner, Sugar Pie DeSanto, and Bobby Freeman. Jordan was the first African American to run for San Francisco Mayor and although he did not win, he made significant contributions to the local African American civil rights movement and left a lasting impact on his community.

Clark Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Arts June 2014 A• Abstracto( the Thesis of Alexandra Hicks for 1he degree ofBachelor of Arts in the School of Journalism and Communication to be talcen June, 2014 Title: Keeping Up With the Jonescs: Socioeconomic Class Representation in Sitcoms Awroa:&~ This thesis examines the representation of socioeconomic class in situation comedies. Through the influence of the advertising industiy, situation comedies (sitcoms) have developed a pattem throughout history of misrepresenting ~ial class, which is made evident by their portrayals ofdifferent races, genders, and professions. To rectify the IKk ofprevious studies on modem comedies, this study analyzes socioeconomic class representation on sitcoms that have aired in the last JS years by taking a sample ofseven shows and comparing the estimated cost of characters' residences to the amount of money they would likely earn in their given profession. 1be study showed that modem situation comedies misrepresent socioeconomic class by portraying characters living in residences well beyond what they could afford in real life. Accurate demonstration ofsocioeconomic class on television is imperative be<:ause images presented on television genuinely influence viewers• perceptions of reality.
