THE PRE-EMINENT “FEAST OF FEASTS”: THE HOLY & GREAT DAY (Sviatiy Velikiy Den’, or simply: Velikden’) OF THE PASSOVER (Pascha) OF OUR LORD, GOD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, FROM DEATH TO LIFE, IN THE HOLY RESURRECTION In most languages of Christian societies (other than English, German and some Slavic languages), the holy day’s name is derived from Pesach , the Hebrew word for “Passage” or “Pass Over”.
