Potentate Elect’s Notes

Nobles, Here is to a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Two thousand twelve has arrived. It is a time to celebrate and enjoy the fruits of our labor and of the labor of those who have gone before us. This year we celebrate 30 years of Sahib Shriners, 90 years of Shriners Hospitals for Children and 140 years of Shriners International. I am grateful to the nobility for having the confidence in me to elect me to be your Potentate for 2012. I am looking forward to a year of cooperation and fellowship. With a positive attitude, nothing can stop us from being successful. Successful in attaining our membership goals, and sharing the opportunities we have to support the world’s greatest philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals for Children. Sahib Shriners have many opportunities to have fun and fellowship. Teamwork is the solution. Working together, we can achieve our goals and still have the fun that Shriners are supposed to have. That is why the Shrine was begun way back in 1872. We need to focus our efforts on membership, and what Sahib Shriners want for their Shrine. Activities that families can participate in, as well as taking care of each other in the good times and the not so good times. Any suggestions for activities are always welcome. This year we are going to prepare a photo directory for our 30th anni- versary. Be looking for information about picture taking and if you have old photos from the beginning of Sahib Shriners or photos from Shrines of long ago, Shriners International is also looking for histori- cal photos.

Yours in the Faith,

Charles M. Levan, 33°, Potentate
