PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT OF THANRA STONE (GITTY) QUARRY [KHASRA NO. 2842/2, AREA: 1.840 HA.] LESSEE: M/S SADGURU SAI GRANITE

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This project is for mining of Stone, suitable for crushing purpose in Khasra No. 2842/2, near village Thanra, Tehsil , District () over an area of 1.840 Hect. of M/s. Sadguru Sai Granite, Partner- Shri Chandra Bhan Singh Yadav.

The Environment Clearance is required for mining project at targeted production of 20,000 Cu. m. stone (Gitti) per annum.

2. INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Mining Lease for LOI of Stone, suitable for crushing purpose has been grante of IN-principle over an area of 1.840 ha. by the District Collector (Khanij Branch) Shivpuri vide letter No 859/Pathar Utkhani patta Na. Ka./13/2017 Shivpuri dated 26-09-2017 for a period of 10 years ( 26.09.2017 to 25.09.2027).

(i) Identification of project and project proponent, in case of mining project, a copy of mining lease/letter of intent should be given.

Identification of Project: This is a stone mining, crushing & sizing project.

Identification of project proponent: The project proponent M/s. Sadguru Sai Granite, Partner- Shri Chandra Bhan Singh Yadav. (ii) Brief description of nature of the project: Stone (gitti) to be used in the work of civil construction/ road or railway track project. The mineral will be extracted by deploying JCB, loaders and dumpers. The stone loaded into dumpers and sold to consumers.

(iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region. The stone (gitti) from lease area utilized for road, dam and building and other constructions work. 2 (iv) Demand – Supply Gap: Stone (Gitti) is supplied to local consumers.

(v) Imports VS Indigenous: There is no need of import by stone (gitti) sufficient stone reserves are available in area for making gitti.

(vi) Exports Possibility: Stone (gitti) market value is as not higher that stone (gitti) exports from . (vii) Domestic / Export Market: Stone for making gitti is a “Minor Mineral”. The precise data on production of stone (gitti) are not available. (viii) Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project. The managerial supervisory staff will be employed on the merit basis and workers will be employed from local village.

3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (i) Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects, if any. This is a Stone (gitti) mining project, located near village Thanra, Tehsil Karera, District Shivpuri(M.P.). As per MoEF notification 15.01.16, this application is for grant of Environment clearance.

(ii) Location (map showing general location, specific location, and project boundary & project site layout) with coordinates. The quarry lease area of 1.840 Ha khasra no 2842/2, is situated near Village Thanra, Tehsil Karera, District Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh), is at a distance of about 70 Km from District headquarter Shivpuri and 2.5 Km from village Thanra. (iii) Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted. This is a mining project, which is site specific due to occurrence of rock, the site cannot be shifted.

(iv) Size or magnitude of operation. The targeted production of 20,000 cu.m. stone (gitti) per annum.

(v) Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given). This is a proposed project, and Project Proponent is now applying for environment clearance.

(vi) Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final product/s, Mode of transport of raw Material and Finished Products. The area under reference has been used for extraction of Stone (gitti) by mechanized opencast mining method by removing overburden & side burden. A stone Crusher is operating for breaking, screening and sizing the stone. The Stone (gitti) is dispatched by road as per needs for civil construction work/ road work/ railway track. The H.S.D. requirement will be 100 litres per day. 4

(vii) Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any, should be briefly outlined. Minerals are depleting asset once mined, they cannot be replenished like agriculture, vegetation thus a scientific approach taken up in exploitation of mineral with systematic method.

(viii) Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. The water required at the mine for drinking and domestic purpose is being obtained from a water well located near M.L. area. The water for other purpose will be obtained from sump developed in mine pit.

Water will be obtained from open well/tube well.

(ix) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their Management/disposal. The rock gitti is directly saleable material in the area. There is no mineral beneficiation involve and therefore there will be no tailing.

All the rock sizes are useable and will be sold, generating no waste rock. Only 10 % of overburden will generate, which is utilized in road strengthening.

(x) Schematic representations of the feasibility drawing which give information of EIA purpose. As per the MoEF notification dated 15th January, 2016 the project falls in ‘B2’ Category. The environmental clearance for the project from the DEIAA, Shivpuri.

4. SITE ANALYSIS: (i) Connectivity: By road The Lease area is Thanra at 70 km from District headquarter Shivpuri and 2.5 Km from village Thanra. BY Train The quarry area can be access by train up to Shivpuri and thereafter by road.

(ii) Land Form, Land use and Land ownership. The land cover under the mining lease area as under. District & State Tehsil Village Type of land Area in ha. Shivpuri, Karera Thanra Pvt. Land 1.840 Madhya Pradesh

(iii) Physiography: The lease hold is almost hilly. The elevation of the highest point

is 298m. AMSL and the elevation of the lowest point is 294m AMSL. Thus, the

total elevation difference is 4 m.

6 (iv) Existing land use pattern (agriculture, non-agriculture, forest, water bodies (including area under CRZ)), shortest distances from the periphery of the project to periphery of the forests, national park, wild life sanctuary, eco sensitive areas, water bodies (distance from the HFL of the river), CRZ. In case of notified industrial area, a copy of the Gazettee notification should be given. That there is no Wild life Sanctuary, National Park within Buffer zone. The area

does not fall in CRZ, no eco sensitive zone exist in buffer zone. No Inter State

boundary falls within 10 km. from area.

(v) Existing Infrastructure: Temporary mine Office, first aid station, rest shelter will be erected in lease area.

There is a prime requirement of power at the mine, for which connection of 250 K.V. is applied.

(vi) Soil classification: There is least top soil on land surface.

(vii) Climatic data from secondary sources: The region is characterized by arid climate with normal annual rainfall 812 mm of . The temperature rises up to 46°C in summer and goes down up to 2°C in winter.

(viii) Social Infrastructure available: The details of the population residing within the buffer zone are tabulated below. There is no human settlement in the mining lease area. People or inhabitants do not require any rehabilitation.

5. PLANNING BRIEF: (i) Planning Concept (type of industries, facilities, transportation etc) Town and Country Planning/Development authority Classification.

The present working being by the opencast semi mechanized mining method and same will also continue in future by forming suitable benches by making height & width of benches of 3 mts. each. The pit slope will be kept at an angle of 38° to 40°. Reserves are available for targeted production of Stone (gitti) at 20,000 Cu. mts. per year.

7 (ii) Population Projection.

The project for mining of stone and reducing stone in near village Thanra, Tehsil Karera, District Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh). The population of District Shivpuri is around 1,340,411. The Workers for the project resides in the town and villages.

Details of the population of each town and village will be drawn from the Census, 2011 will be submitted at the time of presentation.

(iii) Land use planning (break up along with green belt etc.).

(iv) Assessment of Infrastructure Demand (Physical & Social). 1. Required infrastructure for operation of the project will be erected.

(v) Amenities/Facilities. 1. Facilities will be developing for the workers like small rest shelter. As the workers are from nearby village, hence no housing facilities will be needed.

6. PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE: i) Temporary mine Office, first aid station, rest shelter will be erected in lease area.

(i) Industrial Area (Processing area): Crushing, Screening, sizing and stock piling are being carried out.

(ii) Residential Area (Non Processing Area): Not applicable, local personnel will be deployed i.e. from the nearby area.

(iii) Green Belt: Project proponent needs plantation in 33% of 1.840 Ha. area =0.607 Ha. & will do plantation 610 plants outside lease area.

(iv) Social Infrastructure: Socio-economic conditions of area generally improve as mining activities create additional employment opportunity for local habitants. 8 Socio-economic status of local populace also improves as a result of social welfare activities undertaken by mine owners.

Significant contributions will be made towards education, medical facilities and cultural aspects. Plantation done will improve environmental conditions in the area.

(v) Connectivity (Traffic and Transportation Road/Rail/Metro/Water ways etc). The area can be reach by State transport bus, jeep or by own vehicles.

(vi) Drinking Water management (Source & Supply of water): Drinking water is obtained from the well situated outside of the M.L. area and rain water collected in the pit/sump will be utilized for dust suppression and afforestation work.

(vii) Sewerage System. Not applicable.

(viii) Industrial Waste Management: There is no industrial waste generation.

(ix) Solid Waste Management: Only 10 % of overburden will generate, which is utilized in road strengthening.

(x) Power Requirement & Supply / source.

Diesel & electricity being used.

7. REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT (R & R PLAN): (i) Policy to be adopted (Central/State) in respect of the project affected persons including home oustees, land oustees and landless laborers (a brief outline to be given). There is no hutment in the lease area. No human being displaced from the area so no person will be affected, contrary local people will get job opportunity.

8. PROJECT SCHEDULE & COST ESTIMATES: (i) Likely date of start of construction and likely date of completion (Time schedule for the project to be given). Environment Clearance is required from DEIAA Shivpuri.

(ii) Estimated project cost along with analysis in terms of economic viability of the project. Rs. Forty lacs. 9

9. ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL (FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS): (i) Financial and social benefits with special emphasis on the benefit to the local people including tribal population, if any, in the area. There is no industry in the area. The mining in this area will provide employment to nearby villagers. This employment opportunity will help in raising the standard of living of the people in the area. Socio-economic condition of area generally improve as mining activities create additional employment opportunity for local habitant, social – economic status of local populace also improves as a result of social welfare activities under taken by mine owners. Significant contribution will be made towards education medical facilities and cultural aspects. Plantation will improve environmental condition of the area.
