A small bounce-back emerged from the Arab Spring with Egypt contributing the largest increase in flights in February. With the exception of charter, all market segments were down circa 5%. Since it was the most affected by the Egyptian and Tunisian disruptions, the charter segment saw 8% growth on February last year (EUROCONTROL, March). Based on preliminary data for delay from all causes, 38% of flights were delayed on departure in February, a 4 percentage point increase in comparison with the same month in 2011.
