San Antonio Heart Month 2020 AMERICAN HEART MONTH REVIEW AMERICAN HEART MONTH PROCLAMATION HANDS -ONLY CPR TRAINING WITH METHODIST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM GO RED FOR WOMEN SUMMIT & SURVIVOR FASHION SHOW WE HEART MOM VESTIDO ROJO WOMEN'S HEALTH CONFERENCE TRADITIONAL & SOCIAL MEDIA COVERAGE FEBRUARY 2020 FEBRUARY PROCLAIMED AMERICAN HEART MONTH On January 29, 2020, during a special ceremony in the city council chamber, Mayor Ron Nirenberg proclaimed February 2020 "American Heart Month" in San Antonio to commemorate the Go Red for Women movement. Accepting the proclamation on behalf of the American Heart Association was Brianna Simmons, Go Red for Women Director. THANK YOU VALERO FOR PROVIDING CPR TRAINING KITS TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS As part of its commitment to serving the San Antonio community, the Valero Energy Foundation supported the American Heart Association by providing 420 CPR Anytime Kits and 100 Infant CPR Kits to designated community partners. During February, Infant CPR Kits were distributed to the following Federally Qualified Health Centers and clinics in low income communities: CentroMed, Communicare, and Dr. Robert L.M. Hilliard Health Center. As the American Heart Association ended the "Little Hats Big Hearts" program across the country, the team in San Antonio introduced WE MOM as a way to maintain the engagement of our volunteer knitters, connect with our healthcare system partners, and provide women's heart health content to moms of newborns in February. 200 Infant CPR Kits (sponsored by AirMed) were distributed to the following: CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, Methodist Healthcare System, and University Health System. New moms also received a red knit heart to remind them to focus on their own heart health.
