IESO Engagement From: IESO Engagement Sent: June 30, 2021 10:23 AM Subject: Regional Electricity Planning in the North & East of Sudbury Region Regional electricity planning activities have begun for the North & East of Sudbury region. A public webinar is scheduled for July 19 at 2:00 p.m. to provide an overview of the electricity planning process, the needs that have been identified for this area, and to seek input on the draft Scoping Assessment report that will determine the most appropriate planning approach going forward to meet the needs. To register, email [email protected]. A draft copy of the report will be shared for review in advance of the webinar and written comments will be invited until August 3. All interested parties are invited to participate including, but not limited to, local municipalities, Indigenous communities, businesses, stakeholders and members of the general public. The North & East of Sudbury region is defined by electrical infrastructure boundaries, and the area is roughly bordered by the Town of Moosonee to the north, Town of Hearst to the northwest, Municipality of East Ferris to the south, and Town of Kirkland Lake to the East. The region also includes the Indigenous communities of Constance Lake First Nation, Flying Post First Nation, Matachewan First Nation, Mattagami First Nation, Missanabie Cree, Moose Cree First Nation, Nipissing First Nation, Taykwa Tagamou First Nation, Temagami First Nation, Wahgoshig First Nation and Wahnapitae First Nation. The IESO will work with electricity sector partners (including transmitters and local distribution companies), communities, stakeholders, and other interested parties to help define the specific needs and explore possible solutions though the regional electricity planning process. -

BULLETIN Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Flood Warning North Bay District NEWS Tuesday, April 30, 2019 16:00 The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – North Bay District is advising area residents that an Updated Flood Warning is in effect in the District until Monday, May 06, 2019. The Ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Further updates will be issued as appropriate. TECHNICAL INFORMATION Description of Weather System We will see another Texas Low move towards the lower Great Lakes, bringing moist, unstable conditions to most of Southern Ontario and into the North Bay area. The system will bring periods of rain with the potential for heavier amounts, Tuesday evening into Wednesday. The current forecast for the North Bay MNRF District is showing rain, snow and or ice pellets ranging from 5-10mm over the next two days. Daytime temperature highs are expected to range from 1 to 10 degrees centigrade for the next couple of days. Overnight temperatures are forecast to hover around zero degrees and slightly below zero in the northern reaches of the district. Description of Current Conditions Most of the lower portions of northeastern Ontario have received substantial precipitation over the last week. The combination of repeated rainfall and snowmelt has resulted in water levels and stream flows across the area rising significantly, reaching or exceeded flood stage in many areas. Forecast precipitation for Tuesday and Wednesday will maintain or further add to existing high water conditions across most of the North Bay District. 1 Road closures and sand bagging has been reported and area residents have been impacted by flooding. -

WHEREAS, we the Nipissing communities of the Nipissing-Temiskaming riding, Antoine First Nations, Mattawa/North Bay Nipissing First Nation, Bonfield (Bonfield/Rutherglen), Callander, Calvin, Chisholm, East Ferris (Astorville/ Corbeil), Mattawa, Mattawan, Nipissing, North Bay, Papineau-Cameron, Powassan (Powassan/South Himsworth/Trout Creek) and Redbridge, seek fast, reliable and affordable internet and e- connectivity for our citizens, our businesses, our non-profit organizations and our visitors; AND WHEREAS, we form part of Blue Sky Net where internet speed in our communities has been confirmed as substantially lacking as reported in the recently published report entitled “The Speed of Northern Ontario Broadband” ; AND WHEREAS, our companies find it difficult to operate in a business environment that is becoming increasingly digitalized; AND WHEREAS, our citizens are frustrated as the school season resumes and their children require internet for their education program; AND WHEREAS, we are concerned that applications for the Improving Connectivity for Ontario (ICON) was severely over-subscribed; AND WHEREAS, we are equally concerned there has yet to be Federal Government funding announced in support of the ICON fund; AND WHEREAS, we are more so concerned that our voice will be lost in the sea of funding demands for improved internet and e-connectivity currently being made by communities across our region, our province and our country; THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Municipality of East Ferris encourages the citizens of our -
