1. Purchased Texts (JUMP TO LIST OF TITLES) ​ ​ ​ Purchase classroom ready bundles of texts for each unit through the Text Portal. ​ ​

2. Public Domain Texts (JUMP TO LIST OF TITLES) ​ ​ ​ Texts in the public domain no longer have a copyright and are freely available for use by the public. These texts ​ ​ can be printed and distributed for educational purposes. Print-ready versions are provided in the unit.

3. Permissioned Texts (JUMP TO LIST OF TITLES) ​ ​ ​ While every effort has been made to select and present materials in the public domain, some materials may be 2 protected by copyright laws. When known, information on permissions is noted.

The following categories of permissioned texts are used in the unit plans. For each category, there are different allowances for use and printing.

● Creative Commons: Gives the user different levels of access rights to the material ​ ● Digital Access Only: Copyright owner(s) or rights holder(s) have granted permission for the text to be ​ accessed digitally only, not printed ● Download for Educational Use: Copyright owner(s) or rights holder(s) have granted permission for text ​ to be accessed digitally and printed for educational use, or no copyright owner or rights holder can be determined ● Seek Permission: No permission has been granted by the copyright owner(s) or rights holder(s); ​ teachers must purchase or access texts through an anthology already owned by the district/teacher or ​ ​ seek permission to print the text for educational use

Please note the written permission of the copyright owner(s) and/or other rights holders is required for distribution, reproduction, or other use of protected items beyond that allowed by fair use or other statutory ​ ​ exemptions. Responsibility for securing any necessary permission rests with the user.
