Four-Legged, 1,600-Pound Athlete Looks to Continue His Historical Streak in Louisville This Weekend! Four-legged, 1,600-pound Athlete Looks to Continue His Historical Streak in Louisville This Weekend! Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) World Champion Bull Bushwacker Goes for 41st Consecutive Buckoff at Louisville, Kentucky’s KFC Yum! Center April 13-14 The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) stops in Louisville, Ky. this weekend at the KFC Yum! Center for the PBR Built Ford Tough Series Bass Pro Chute Out presented by Jack Daniels Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. During Sunday’s Built Ford Tough Championship Round , the bucking chute gate will open and two-time World Champion Bull Bushwacker of Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls will get a chance to extend his already historic streak of consecutive buckoffs. Having already shattered the previous record of 35 consecutive buckoffs, he is currently at 40 and odds indicate he will dump his 41st consecutive cowboy in Louisville. All of the action airs on CBS Sports Network Sunday, April 14 at 5 p.m. ET. Either way, history is going to be made this weekend; Bushwacker will continue his unprecedented success, or a cowboy will finally complete an 8-second ride atop this amazing animal athlete. Bushwacker has not been ridden successfully since 2009 and has maintained an impressive average buckoff time of 2.38 seconds. PBR fans know they are witnessing something special every time he sets hooves in an arena. This is bull riding’s equivalent of DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak, bringing excitement and anticipation each time this bovine bruiser gets into a chute. Amazingly, Bushwacker didn’t let arthroscopic surgery on his rear fetlocks (ankles) in January 2012 get in the way of his career, as he has returned to the sport better than ever. Bushwacker has been especially successful this season, bucking off current No. 1 bull rider Shane Proctor, 2013 Iron Cowboy Austin Meier, 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee and titanium tough Luke Snyder. In fact, no bull rider has made a successful 8-second ride aboard the 8-year-old since 2009 when Thiago Paguioto covered him for 89.75 points in Las Vegas during the Built Ford Tough World Finals. Markus Mariluch covered him for 88 points during that same event. They are the only two men who have successfully ridden him in his nearly four-year career with the PBR. In his last 40 outs, only one man has come close to covering him – J.B. Mauney, who lasted 7.22 seconds before hitting the dirt. By comparison, the longest successful ride streak for one of the active cowboys is 13 rides by 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi. Bushwacker is noted for his calm demeanor while awaiting his turn to enter the arena. However, as soon as the chute gate opens, all bets are off and this bull is all business. If history can repeat itself, PBR fans will watch Bushwacker dominate again as he dumps his 41st consecutive rider this weekend while continuing to cement his place in PBR history. 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of PBR competition. The season will award over $10 million including $2.2 million at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, October 23-27, at the Thomas & Mack Center. PBR is one of the fastest growing sports in history with more than 100 million worldwide viewers watching PBR programming weekly on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks around the globe. More than 2.5 million fans attend PBR live events each year. About the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) The PBR is the world’s premier bull riding organization.
