Michigan Grape & Wine Industry Council www.michiganwines.com Old Mission Peninsula www.wineriesofoldmission.com Southwest Michigan www.miwinetrail.com www.pioneerwinetrail.com Tasting Notes The LPVA wineries welcome you to the Leelanau Peninsula wine appellation, a world-renowned, fruit-growing region that offers the greatest concentration of wineries in Michigan.

We invite you to visit our tasting rooms to sample and purchase wines. When you return home we encourage you to seek out our wines at your favorite wine shop and restaurant.

Here are a few notes to improve your wine tasting experience.

Make a plan. Determine how many and which wineries you are going to visit. If you are new to wine tasting let the wineries know and they will assist you in choosing wines to try.

Please enjoy your wine tasting experience responsibly. Consider a designated driver or using one of the listed limo or bus services.

Take your time, ask questions. Many of our wineries offer complimentary tasting to help you find wines to enjoy. Once you find those wines, purchase them to enjoy later when you return home. Wineries offer case discounts so inquire.

Not every wine is for everyone. If you find a wine that you may not care for simply pour it out and try something else. Don’t ruin the experience for others who might enjoy a wine that you may not.

State of Michigan law limits the size of sampling pours and each winery has their own policies on the number of samples they offer.

We have over 100 wines; so don’t try to taste them all in one day. Spend a night or two at one of the accommodations listed and visit our wineries over a couple of days.

Have fun! Remember wine tasting is fun and informative. Each tasting room has a knowledgeable and courteous team to assist you. Don’t be intimidated by the occasional wine “know it all” that may be next to you. Only you know the wine or wines for you.

When you find wines you enjoy purchase them to take home for later enjoyment or to give as gifts.
