Roush Fenway Racing Is “Off to See the Wizard” Kansas Roush Fenway Racing Returns to Sun Kansas Speedway, 1.5-mile @roushfenway Sprint Cup Series Roush Fenway Racing is “Off to See the Wizard” Kansas Roush Fenway Racing returns to Sun. 10/16/16 - 2:15 PM ET the land of Oz this weekend as NBC, MRN, Sirius 90 the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) heads back to Kansas Trevor Bayne, No. 6 Speedway, a track that has AdvoCare Ford Fusion seen a Roush Fenway Ford visit victory lane nine times across Greg Biffle, No. 16 NASCAR’s three major touring FordPass Ford Fusion series. Ricky Stenhouse Jr, No. 17 Follow the Yellow Brick Road Fastenal Ford Fusion Overall, Roush Fenway has started 147 races across the NSCS, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World NASCAR XFINITY Series Truck Series (NCWTS), earning a total of nine wins, 41 top-five finishes, 71 top-10 finishes Kansas and has an overall average finish of 13. Sat. 10/15/16 - 3:00 PM ET NBC, MRN, Sirius 90 Winning at Kansas Roush Fenway Richmond Wins Bubba Wallace, No. 6 Roush Fenway swept both the NASCAR XFINITY Series and NSCS races at Kansas in the 1990-1 Martin Cup Leidos Ford Mustang fall of 2012, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. becoming the sixth driver to win at the track for the 1998-2 Burton Cup organization via his XFINITY victory. Mark Martin earned Roush Fenway’s first NSCS win at 2002-2 Kenseth Cup Ryan Reed, No. 16 Kansas in 2005 and Greg Biffle bested the 1.5-mile track in 2007 and 2010. Roush Fenway’s 2005-2 Busch Cup Lilly/American Diabetes Ford first overall win at Kansas came in 2002 via Jeff Burton in the XFINITY Series. Three drivers 2013-2 Edwards Cup Mustang (Jon Wood, 2003), (Carl Edwards, 2004) and (Erik Darnell, 2007) have won in the NCWTS at 1993-1 Martin NXS Kansas for Roush Fenway. 1993-2 Martin NXS 1997-1 Martin NXS Tale of the Tape 1998-1 Burton NXS Roush Fenway has started 83 NSCS races at Kansas, recording four victories, 20 top-five 1999-1 Martin NXS finishes, 34 top-10 finishes, an average finish of 15.3 and has led 932 laps. Former Roush 2000-2 Burton NXS Roush Fenway Kansas Wins Fenway driver Matt Kenseth earned the most recent victory at Kansas in the fall of 2012. 2005-1 Edwards NXS 2005 Martin Cup Carry On My Wayward Son 2008-2 Edwards NXS 2007 Biffle Cup With his pair of wins at Kansas, Biffle is Roush Fenway’s most successful driver at the mile- 2009-2 Edwards NXS 2010 Biffle Cup and-a-half oval. In addition to his two wins there, Biffle has posted one pole, led a total of 1999 Biffle Truck 2012-2 Kenseth Cup 346 laps and has an average finish of 12.1. 2002 Burton NXS 2012 Stenhouse NXS Round Two of the Chase 2003 Wood Truck Roush Fenway teammates Bubba Wallace and Ryan Reed both advanced to the second 2004 Edwards Truck round of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase following the event at Charlotte Motor Speed- 2007 Darnell Truck way. At the completion of round two, the bottom four drivers in the Chase Grid will be eliminated. Round two gets underway this weekend in Kansas. While we haven’t been west of the Rockies since River- side International Raceway in 1968, it’s hard to believe it will be that long before we return again. The question on everyone’s mind, even more than usual, is who is going to win? Are there hidden gems on the west coast who may be making their first Runoffs appearance that will make a name for themselves on the national stage, or will the traditional contenders learn a new track quickly enough to hold their titles? My guess is that we’ll see some of each.
