Your ARI representative is on hand to assist you with your ordering needs. FCA released a recall campaign for approximately 4.8 million Dodge, Jeep, and RAM models for vehicles that may not be able to disengage the cruise control. The first campaign (U49) will launch on Tuesday, May 29 and will include approximately 474,000 VINs. Each campaign will have a specific campaign number with a specific launch date. The remedy for each of the 9 campaigns is a software flash with no parts needed to fix the issue. FCA is advising drivers to not engage the cruise control until the software update is completed. A list of the affected models will include 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2014-2018 Chrysler 300, 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2014-2018 Dodge Charger, 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, 2014-2018 Dodge Durango, 2014-2018 Jeep Cherokee, 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2018 Jeep Wrangler, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2014-2018 RAM 2500, 2014-2018 RAM 3500, 2014-2018 RAM 3500 Chassis Cab, and 2014-2018 RAM 4500/5500 Chassis Cab. 2019MY RAM 1500 trucks that are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 or a 5.7-liter V8 with an optional 48-volt belt-starter generator have been delayed due to EPA certification issues. The belt-start generator is a fuel saving device that is standard with the V6. FCA began production on the redesigned RAM 1500 five months ago and currently they are only selling the 2WD and 4WD with the standard 5.7L Hemi V8. The RAM 1500 with the V6 engine represented about 20% of the trucks sales last model year, so FCA is pushing to meet the EPA regulations and get the vehicle on dealer lots. A new hybrid electric powertrain will be offered on the Ram 1500 by 2022. FORD – Lincoln will bring back the Aviator large crossover vehicle, based on the Explorer platform with production starting in late 2018CY. It will likely replace the MKT model. The vehicle will be built on Lincoln’s new RWD platform and will be available with a standard twin-turbo gas engine or a plug-in hybrid version that will utilize the same engine. It will also come standard with Lincoln’s Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology. FCA – FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne announced that Chrysler will become a “people-mover” brand which would leave the Pacifica as its only model by 2022. There are no plans to redesign the 300 and it will likely be discontinued by 2022. The Charger will be freshened in 2019 to reduce the weight of the vehicle and improve fuel economy and the full redesign will happen in 2021 when it will be built on a revised platform. GM – The new Silverado 4500HD/5500HD and 6500HD Medium Duty trucks are completely new and developed through a partnership between GM and Navistar international Corp. The trucks will be available in Regular Cab and Crew Cab configurations in 4X2 and 4X4 models, powered by a 350 hp 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel engine with 700 lb ft of torque mated to an Allison transmission. GM will expand their dealer network for Medium Duty from 240 to 400 dealers throughout the US. These trucks will not be sold in Canada at this time. This model year (MY96), heavy-duty engine manufacturers are offering a number of natural gas models with additional models nearing production. Electric vehicle manufacturers have several products available with new models nearing completion. Although Caterpillar is the only manufacturer offering propane as a fuel option, Detroit Diesel Corp. Navistar and Ford Motor Company Reach New Business Agreement Companies to Continue To Collaborate on Medium Duty Trucks and Other Initiatives DEARBORN, Mich. & WARRENVILLE, Ill., Jan 13, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) and Navistar International Corporation (NYSE: NAV) have reached an agreement to restructure their ongoing business relationship and settle all existing litigation between the companies. As a result of the agreement, the companies will end their current diesel engine supply agreement effective Dec. 31, 2009. However, the companies will continue to collaborate on a range of initiatives, including their existing Blue Diamond Truck and Parts joint ventures. Navistar will acquire additional equity in the Blue Diamond joint ventures, which will continue to offer dealers and customers F-650 and F-750 medium duty trucks, as well as parts support for a variety of Ford products, including Ford's PowerStroke Diesel-equipped trucks. Ford and Navistar also will continue their diesel engine supply relationship in South America. As a result of the agreement, Ford will make a payment to Navistar. "Navistar and Ford benefitted from a successful partnership that provided value to both companies for nearly three decades. However, it's in our best interests to resolve our conflict and continue our relationship with each other in other areas," said Dan Ustian, Navistar chairman, president and chief executive officer. "The next phase of our relationship is consistent with Navistar's strategy to diversify our customer base, while continuing to provide value to both companies through our existing joint ventures and our supply agreement in South America." "We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Navistar that we believe is in the best interest of both companies," said Mark Fields, Ford's president of The Americas.
