July 2021 Policy

The July 2021 Uptime Policy requirements for compensation for all xx network nodes are:

than or equal to 80% Online ● less than or equal to 6% Precomp Timeout ● less than or equal to .5% Realtime Timeout

Grace Period

If July 2021 is a grace period for you, you will be informed in the same email you received your registration code in.

Nodes expected to the xx network for the frst in July 2021 (Orange Team XI) will have the entire month of July 2021 as a grace period. The grace period is designed to allow you adequate time to onboard. New nodes that meet the July 2021 Uptime Policy requirements will receive compensation as usual.

In the event a new node does not meet the July 2021 Uptime Policy requirements, they may have their July 2021 compensation deferred to the next month (August 2021). If the Uptime Policy requirements for August 2021 are met, they will receive compensation for July 2021 and August 2021.

Grace periods may be extended to nodes do not meet requirements due to extenuating circumstances but only by request.

We continually strive to work with nodes on a one on one basis to ensure they can participate. If your situation warrants a grace period outside of the above policy, please email us [email protected].

Dashboard

On each node’s page of the dashboard there are monthly and weekly metrics which show the Uptime and Round Success Rate of the node, which can be used to track the node’s statistics and progress.

Online Requirement

A node is counted as online as long as the permissioning server regularly receives pings from a node. If on the dashboard, your node’s status is either “Online” or “Error”, it is still considered online for the purpose of compensation.

Node uptime is not tracked while the xx network’s permissioning server is down and such periods will not affect the node’s uptime. In the event the network is down due to a software update or a bug caused by the xx network team, those periods will not count against the Online requirement.

Technical details of Uptime tracking

Whenever a node polls the permissioning server for network state updates, as long as the network is up, the node is properly authenticated, or the node is not banned, it will increment a poll counter. Every 5 minutes the poll counters are stored as “node metrics” in a database and cleared. As long as that counter is greater than 0 for a period, the node is considered online for that period. The uptime metric on the dashboard and used by the team for compensation is the percentage of periods with a count of 1 or more .

Timeout Requirements

Nodes participate in rounds. Each round consists of two main phases, Precomp and Realtime.

Technical details of Precomp Timeout tracking

All rounds which complete successfully, are added to a database on our server. Precomp Timeout displays the ratio of rounds which have failed during the Precomp phase of a round as a percentage of all rounds.

Technical details of Realtime Timeout tracking

All rounds which complete successfully, are added to a database on our server. Realtime Timeout displays the ratio of rounds which have failed during the Realtime phase of a round as a percentage of all rounds.
