She earned a B.A. in Communications (Lima University, Peru), a master’s in Latin American Studies (UNAM, Mexico), and a Ph.D. in Contemporary Latin America (Complutense University of Madrid, Spain). Her research interests include migration, diasporas and the media, and US Latino & Latin American cultural industries. Her work has been published in journals in Latin America, Europe, and North America. She is co- editor of The Handbook of Diaspora, Media and Culture (Wiley, 2019). Recent book chapters: “Hashtag Jóvenes Latinos: Teaching Civic Advocacy Journalism in Glocal Contexts” (2018); “The transnational restructuring of communication and consumption practices.
