[email protected] GVSU’s Lipovsky, Truman's Reisinger nab Midwest Region’s top honors ALLENDALE, Mich.—For the second consecutive season, Grand Valley State University senior pitcher Allison Lipovsky and Truman State University senior outfielder Christa Reisinger have been named the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association Midwest Region Softball Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively, in a vote by the Midwest Region’s sports information directors. Lipovsky, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2018 and 2019, is currently 26-2 record, a 0.81 ERA, a .146 opponent batting average and 271 strikeouts. Her efforts propelled the Lakers to a 44-8 overall record this year and, for the second consecutive season, helped Grand Valley State to the GLIAC regular-season and tournament titles as well as the top seed in this week’s NCAA II Midwest Region Tournament. The Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season, Reisinger is earning D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year accolades after leading the GLVC and ranking third in the nation with a .564 batting average. She currently has 10 doubles, five triples, 13 home runs and 36 RBIs, all while leading the GLVC in runs scored (73) and stolen bases (58). She leads the nation in runs scored and is second in stolen bases. Reisinger’s efforts helped the Bulldogs to a 31-17 overall record and to their 17th NCAA II Tournament appearance in program history.
