Drivers choosing an all-electric Jaguar I-PACE performance SUV will be given free access to the Jaguar Public Charging app, whilst Range Rover or Range Rover Sport plug-in petrol- electric hybrid (PHEV) customers can download the Land Rover Public Charging app for free. Both apps easily locate 70,000 charging points and pay for the charging session. Customers will also receive a universal charging card that allows them to use most charging points across Europe. Through the apps, Jaguar and Land Rover electric vehicle drivers can see whether a charging station is available or occupied. Drivers can choose to rapid charge before reaching their destination or charge at normal speed upon arrival. Mick Cameron, Head of e-Mobility, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “We are aiming to simplify the charging process through simple accessibility, usability and payment in one solution. With the number of accessible charging points rapidly growing as new operators work with the Plugsurfing network in major markets throughout Europe, it helps our customers to be working with the leading provider.” Jacob van Zonneveld, CEO, Plugsurfing, said: “Everyone switching to an electric vehicle asks, ‘where do I charge my car?’ Thanks to this partnership with Jaguar Land Rover, we are able to remove one of the largest barriers to switching to an electric vehicle. We know that another barrier to switching is the availability of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Plugsurfing is working to influence and drive infrastructure policy to expand the number of charging points available across Europe for Jaguar and Land Rover users.” There are two packages on offer - a fixed monthly fee or Pay As You Go. Each package, which includes the universal charging key and app download information, is available through the Jaguar and Land Rover retailer network. From 2020 all new Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will be electrified. A portfolio of electrified products across the model range will embrace fully electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles, giving customers even more choice.     JAGUAR LAND ROVER RETAIL SALES CONTINUE TO RECOVER IN QUARTER ENDING DECEMBER 2020 WITH CHINA SALES GROWING YEAR-ON-YEAR Whitley, UK, 11 January 2021 – Jaguar Land Rover marked the end of 2020 with a second successive quarter-on-quarter recovery in sales, despite the continuing impact of Covid-19. Retail sales for the quarter ending 31 December 2020 were 128,469 vehicles, 13.1% higher than the 113,569 vehicles sold in the preceding quarter, but down 9.0% on the same period last year. China sales were particularly encouraging, up 20.2% on the prior quarter and 19.1% year-on-year. Retail sales in most other regions also continued to recover and were up significantly on the prior quarter in North America (+31.7%), Overseas (+26.6%) and Europe (+20.5%). However, sales in these regions have not yet recovered to pre-Covid levels with sales for the quarter lower than a year ago in North America (-17.2%), Overseas (-20.0%), Europe (-16.3%) and the UK (-8.9%). The sales ramp-up of the new Land Rover Defender saw retails rising to 16,286 vehicles in the October to December quarter, up 66.0% on the preceding quarter with sales of the shorter wheelbase Defender 90 having started. For Jaguar, retail sales of the multi award-winning all- electric I-PACE were up 69.3% year-on-year with 7,807 sold in the quarter, as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow. For the calendar year 2020, Jaguar Land Rover retail sales were 425,974, down 23.6% on 2019, reflecting the industry impact of Covid-19 particularly in the first half of the year when plants were shut down for more than two months.
