Sunday 12 April – Mt Perry Ride Reports Thursday 9th April – We gathered at the River Cruz at the usual time for a 9am departure. Being As it was Easter weekend, it was decided Easter Sunday we were not sure how we stay off highways as much as possible many takers we would have, but there – so 11 bikes with pillion Lyn hit the back were 10 people on 8 bikes, including Ron roads to Moore Park, across country to W’s son, Geoff on his Harley, and we Rosedale road, and up to Jo's Roadhouse welcomed a new rider – Bill? on his V for a break – here we turned off and Star. After a quick ride briefing we headed headed back through Bucca, and on to along the Bundaberg Gin Gin Rd to the – across the road, through Wallaville turnoff. Taking in a few twists, Bungadoo to Wallaville – here we had curves and large hills we arrived at the lunch at the pub – leaving there we went Bruce Highway near Red Bank Gully. We

headed back towards Gin Gin and turned left into Skyrings Reserve Rd. We took the loooooooong way around to Gin Gin via , and met up with Lyn and Brian on her V Star for some morning tea.

After a leisurely morning tea we headed up Mt Perry Road at a gentle pace to the lookout, (see photo) where Brian’s brother to the bakery at Gin Gin for coffee and met us for a chat. We had lunch at the Mt sweets – here we met up with Karen Perry Pub, then meandered back to Gin whose brand new Suzuki Boulevard C90 Gin (well some of us, without red buttons, was being kindly run in by Steve. meandered!!) for our customary ice-cream Ron W before heading our separate ways. A good ride, good food and great company. Thanks everyone. Bruce & Linda

Here's a truly heartwarming story about the bond formed between a little 5 year old girl and some building workers that makes you believe that we can make a difference when we give a child the gift of our time...

A young family moved into a house, next door to a vacant block. One day the builders arrived to start the house. The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers.

Eventually the builders, all of them rough diamonds, more or less adopted her as a kind of mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had smoko and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.

At the end of the week they even presented her with a pay envelope containing a couple of dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who said all the appropriate words of admiration and suggested that they take the two dollar "pay" she had received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.

When they got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with the builders on the house next door." My goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week, too?" The little girl replied, "I will if those arseholes at the hardware ever deliver the fucking gyprock..."
