Within those contexts, I will be using the psychological concept of scene gist to explore the sustainable business model of clean beauty and investigate the technological ways that these companies interact with Gen Z consumers via social media. -

By creating advertisements with unrealistic images of beauty, it has resulted in anxiety, low self-esteem, and low self-confidence in many women. Most of these negative emotions stems from unhappiness among body and appearance. Less research has been performed relating to cosmetics and how this can have an influence on women, and how women can use cosmetics to manipulate their appearance. -

PARIS, France — Can couture be modern? The question arises each season and the answers are almost as many as the designers and houses that are part of the calendar. Couture is both an anachronism, completely at odds with the present time, and yet probably the only place left in the modern luxury business where fashion can still produce radically progressive, soulful fantasies. This tension makes for fascinating results. And there was lots of dream-making in the couture week which closed in Paris on Thursday: a crescendo that started with the Dior circus on Monday, passed through Chanel's jolly villa affair on Tuesday and took off on Wednesday with the equally extreme, but almost diametrically opposed visions of Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maison Margiela’s John Galliano, who were the undisputed winners of the season. In brief, the offering was festive, indulgent and at times escapist; full of decadence of every sort. It is not surprising: dire, divisive times like ours call for outbursts of joy and excess, for a frenzied dance on the edge of the abyss. If the world as we know it is rotting, why not front the debacle with shimmer and glamour instead of gloom and doom? If even a master of luxurious restraint such as Giorgio Armani embraces out-there, assertive opulence you have to take notice. -

It’s a great pleasure to have the opportunity to adress such a distinquished audience. Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sandra Anticova. I work as a representative in the L’Oréal Czech Republic subsidiary. Today I’m going to inform you about L’Oréal, its history, products, sales, structure and something about its owners and shareholders. Please interrupt me if there is something which needs clarifying. Otherwise, there’ll be time for discussion at the end of my short presentation. I think that now it is time to start. So, I would suggest that we begin with the history of the company. The history of the company In 1907, Eugéne Schueller, a young French chemist, developed an innovative hair- colour formula. He called this new, perfectly safe, hair duy „Aurelióne“ . With this, the history of L‘Oréal began. Eugéne Scheller formulated and manufactured his own products, which he then sold to Parisian hairdressers. In 1909, Schueller registred his own company, the „Société Francaise de Teintures Inoffensives pour Cheveux“, the future L‘Oréal. The two guiding principles of the company were research and innovation in the interests of beauty, and these were put into place from the start. In 1920, the small company employed 3 chemists. By 1950, the research teams had 100 members, and the number reached 1,000 by 1984, and is nearly 3,000 today. -

The Consumer Products Division is maintaining its momentum and outperforming its market, driven by the acceleration in make-up with the breakthrough of the NYX Professional Makeup brand, the global roll-out of Ultra Doux by Garnier, and an excellent performance in North America. L’Oréal Luxe posted a very good third quarter, thanks to its success in make-up, its fragrance initiatives, and is winning market share, especially in China and the United States. The Active Cosmetics Division's growth is rising in the context of a slowdown in the dermocosmetics market in Europe. In North America, L’Oréal is accelerating substantially and is outperforming its market more strongly. Western Europe is growing, faster than the market, except for France where the environment remains very sluggish. We took popular brands and products along with current pricing (as of Fall 2012) and quantity in ounces to come up with price-per-ounce (PPO). This makes it easier to compare pricing across brands. For example, if you expect to finish a product and/or re-purchase, PPO can be important. If you rarely finish any products and find yourself using a product only a few times before moving on, then the actual price (regardless of how much product you’re getting) will be more important. Product quantities were taken from our product reviews as well as retailer websites.
