Transfers are available from Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro, and Saint John. Stop for lunch (not included) at the Acorn Restaurant in Lake George, NB. Arrive at our host hotel this evening, the Hampton Inn & Suites Portsmouth Central in Portsmouth, NH. The complimentary hotel shuttle can provide transportation to nearby shopping and restaurants. Tuesday, February 4th - Day 2: Portsmouth, NH – New York City (Breakfast) Enjoy a complimentary breakfast and meet with your Tour Director. We check out and depart the hotel this morning with rest breaks and lunch stop on the way to New York City. Your Tour Director will help pass the time with games and entertainment on the coach. Arrive in Manhattan late this afternoon. Check in to the Holiday Inn Express Times Square South located on 36th Street and have free time to start exploring the city. From the hotel you are within close proximity to Times Square, the Broadway theatre district, Grand Central Terminal, and many great shops and restaurants. Your Tour Director is available to help you with planning your free time and finding reservations for attractions, theatre, or museums. This evening, head to Prudential Center for a game between the New Jersey Devils and Montreal Canadiens. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. This morning we will be joined by a Local Step-On Guide for a four-hour guided tour of Manhattan. This tour typically includes the West Side, East Side, Central Park, Times Square, Greenwich Village, Little Italy and Ground Zero (traffic permitting). Your local guide is well-informed and will fill you in on everything you could possibly need to know about New York City. The tour will end at Rockefeller Center this afternoon. The remainder of the afternoon you are free to explore the city. Experience the sights and sounds of Times Square, take a stroll in Central Park, or catch a Broadway production. Your Tour Director is happy to assist you with tickets or reservations. This evening we will head to Madison Square Garden for a game between the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. The original jerseys were brown and gold. 1936- The Bruins exchange the brown for black and get rid of the bear. 1924 Bruins Jersey 1940 - The Boston Bruins set a new record with a 23-game unbeaten streak en route to a first-place finish and introduce the all gold jersey. 1948 - The spoked B is introduced, and the gold jersey is replaced by black and gold, similar to modern day Bruins uniforms. 1955 -The NHL mandates that dark uniforms be worn by the home team, and white uniforms be worn by the visiting team. This arrangement would be reversed in 1970, eventually changed back in 2003. 1967 - Laces appeared for a short time on jerseys. 1970 - Teams switch home and road jerseys.
