Association of Corporate Rhode Island MCLE Counsel Women’s Initiative Appointment

Eric’s practice focuses on the defense of private employers, especially financial institutions and hospitals, in a variety of employment disputes, including claims of wrongful termination, misappropriation of trade secrets, violations of non-compete agreements, tortious interference, and wage and hour disputes under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various other statutes. A special recognition from Edwards Wildman to Paulette Brown, partner and Chief Diversity Officer, who is a nominee for American Bar Association president in 2015. She would be the first woman of color to hold the post. Also this quarter the National Bar Association (NBA), the nation’s oldest and largest association of African-American lawyers and judges, presented Paulette with the Cora T. Walker Legacy Award. Cora T. Walker was a highly esteemed attorney and one of the first black women to practice law in New York. In addition to her private law firm practice, Walker continued to represent members of her Harlem community and in 2006, the NBA Commercial Law Section created the Cora T. Walker Legacy Award in her honor. Paulette’s commitment, dedication and determination to achieve greater inclusiveness in the legal profession inspires us all.

5 With approval by the Hong Kong Law Society, Edwards Wildman Palmer is named to practice in Hong Kong. While the name change took effect on January 1, 2013, the firm’s presence in the region began in 2006.
