Aug 2012 – To date Lecturer, Department of Periodontology and Periodontics, Community and Preventive Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences, University of Nairobi. My Academic duties include research, organising & giving lectures and full-time teaching including supervision of clinical sessions and research projects and examining masters and undergraduate dental students in the subject of periodontology and implant dentistry. I have also experience in reviewing PhD thesis proposals and examination of the same in the School of Dental Sciences. I have been the internal examiner for periodontology since 2013 to date. 2006 – Mar 2012 Postgraduate student tutor, Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London. My responsibilities were to teach and mentor both undergraduate and post graduate students in both periodontics and laboratory/clinical research. Oct 2006 to Apr 2012 I have worked as a postgraduate trainee gaining valuable clinical and laboratory research skills at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts & the London School of Medicine & Dentistry, Royal London Hospital and also at Guys Hospital London. My areas of specialisation in clinical practice have been in the fields of oral diagnosis, periodontics & dental implantology while training at these two hospitals. Feb.1999-Feb.2000 I worked as a Dental Officer at Moi National, Referral and Teaching Hospital, Eldoret where I worked as a general dental practitioner and was involved in chair side teaching of medical undergraduate students on management of oral conditions.
