Since taking office in 2005, he has worked toward reducing expenditures by more than 7% in order to balance the budget. Ten years later the county's general fund budget spending is less than when Scott first took office in 2005. Scott believes that keeping money in the pockets of the people is better for economic growth than higher taxes and rapid government growth.

He would like to present a positive uniform effort among the various groups to attract development, enhance our reputation and establish a foundation that we can build on. Holmes can think of nothing better to dedicate this portion of my life to, beside God and family, than promoting and protecting the place he has always called home. His dad worked in the mills. When they closed he went back to school and became a school teacher. His mom worked 48 years in the Girard School system retiring as a principles secretary. Quick Bio: Party: Republican Occupation: Congressional Staffer Path to General Assembly: Defeated Lisa Woods and Steven Johnson in the Primary to replace term limited David Hall Personal: Married, five children

Kick said he would like to bring some common sense into the world of politics while also acting as a voice for agriculture. He says that we seem to be getting to the far left or the far right on a lot of issues, that somehow that gap has to be bridged to bring people together. We're not always going to agree, and we're going to hold core values, but the only way to get things done is to come together on some issues, and use common sense to get there. Kick sees property rights and education as major issues. He feels property rights are a major concern, and is very concerned about issues that fall on the backs of landowners, whether it's pipelines or any kind of eminent domain project. Kick is also very interested in school initiatives, whether it is choice, school choice type issues, funding, how it can follow the student. Kick says that he is concerned about water quality issues. He has seen some of the things going on at the Federal level with Congressman Gibbs. A lot of water quality issues are becoming farmers' issues as well. They are the culprit when they are not 100 percent of the problem.

72nd House District of Ohio, Licking County (part), Perry County, and Coshocton County Representative

Quick Bio: Age: 57 Party: Republican Occupation: Politician Education: Ohio University, B.A. Path to General Assembly: Defeated Cliff Biggers in the Primary to defeat John Carlisle, replacing Bill Hayes Personal: Married, five sons

Because of term limits, Larry Householder left the State House after the 2004 elections. Larry knew it was time to return back to the family farm and dedicate his life to helping his wife Taundra raise their five sons. As a strong advocate for term limits, it was an easy decision. When Larry last served in the State House, he rose to the post of Speaker and was awarded both the most effective legislator and hardest working legislator. The Columbus lobbyists and their political cronies could not prevent Larry Householder from actually putting conservative principles into action. The reason Larry ran is his commitment to assuring the conservative values and traditions that made us great in the first place are restored and respected again. Larry knows, as Ronald Reagan once said, that government is too big and spends too much. We need less Columbus in Perry, Licking, and Coshocton Counties and a lot more Perry, Licking and Coshocton values in Columbus.

30th Senate District of Ohio, Athens County (part), Belmont County, Carroll County, Harrison County, Jefferson County, Meigs County, Monroe County, Noble County, Vinton County (part), and Washington County Senator

Quick Bio: Party: Republican Occupation: Small Business Owner Education: Buckeye North High School Path to General Assembly: Unopposed in the Primary, defeated incumbent Personal: Married, two sons

Retired Navy SEAL and small business owner Frank Hoagland is running for State Senate to bring common sense leadership and representation back to Eastern and Southeastern

Ohio. Frank will bring a fighting spirit and record of service to Columbus that will serve residents well. Frank Hoagland isn't a career politician. He's a veteran and a small business owner. Like so many of us, Frank has become frustrated with the ability of politicians to change their ways and to do what's best for the people. He won't make the next election his top priority; he'll make serving his district residents, the state and the country his top priority. For Hoagland, serving his country started early. He volunteered for the Navy just two weeks after graduating from Buckeye North High School in Jefferson County and quickly signed up for Navy SEAL BUDS training, following in the special forces footsteps of his father who had served as a Army Green Beret. Navy SEAL training prepared Frank for a life of service by focusing on the notion that success comes when people focus on helping others before they focus on helping themselves. Frank earned his Navy SEAL trident pin after successfully completing BUDS training and served as a Navy SEAL for nearly 30 years. He served overseas and participated in combat zones including the International War on Terrorism and the War on Drugs in South America. After Frank's last combat deployment in 2011, Hoagland retired and returned to Eastern Ohio. Seeking new opportunities to serve and help to protect his community, Frank founded the small business Special Training and Response Tactics (STRT). At STRT, Frank shares his expertise on emergency situation preparation and emergency response procedures with local school districts, businesses, and law enforcement agencies. Frank Hoagland is married to his high school sweetheart Darla. They have two grown sons, Josh and Luke.
