He will receive his award on Saturday evening, May 4, during the American Hockey Coaches Association annual convention in Naples, FL. Entering Thursday afternoon’s semifinal contest vs. Yale, Bazin’s River Hawks have compiled an overall record of 28-10-2, capturing both the Hockey East regular season and tournament titles along the way. Lowell advanced to the Frozen Four by defeating Wisconsin (6-1) and New Hampshire (2-0) to win the NCAA Northeast Regional in Manchester, NH. The River Hawks enter the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center having won 14 of their last 15 games and seven in a row. On December 1, the UMass Lowell record stood at 4-7-1. Since that time, they have gone 24-3-1. Bazin has been chosen as the Hockey East Coach of the Year in both of his seasons at Lowell. This follows two years as the NESCAC Coach of the Year while he coached at Hamilton College.

He is only the second defen- seman to receive this honor in the 12-year history of the award. The award is voted on by the nation’s assistant coaches and is named for the former Yale University and U.S. Olympic Team head coach. Perunovich was 11-25-36 through 40 games for the Bulldogs, putting him fourth in NCAA freshman scoring and the only non-forward in the top eight. He is also eighth in scoring among all defensemen nationally. A strong two-way player, Perunovich is a major rea- son that Minnesota Duluth advanced to this year’s NCAA Frozen Four in St. Paul, MN. “We certainly knew he had the offensive ability and I’m not surprised that he is where he is,” said UMD coach Scott Sandelin. “He does surprise me with some of the plays he makes game in and game out. The big thing is defensively he’s been really good. Antitrust economics considers exclusionary conduct to be anticompetitive if it impairs a rival's efficiency or its ability to impose price discipline. Such conduct can occur by raising a rival's costs, by degrading a rival's quality of service,256 or by depriving rivals of economies of scale.257 Anticompetitive effects may be realized regardless of whether the rival is driven out of the market entirely;258 they require that the rival faces increasing marginal costs or large upfront costs or both. If the conduct forces the rival to operate on a higher portion of its marginal cost curve, then such conduct would achieve partial foreclosure, and the rival would not be able to constrain prices as effectively. In the extreme case, when the conduct prevents the rival from covering its average variable costs, the conduct would induce exit and thereby achieve complete foreclosure. 123. He didn’t even glance at a group of New York Islanders swarming forward Matt Martin to celebrate their fifth goal Thursday night. Dahlin, now a 20-year-old defenseman and 164 games into a National Hockey League career that began with his selection first overall at the 2018 draft, skated toward the Buffalo Sabres’ bench and used his right hand to lift his stick in the air to signal for a line change. Martin, a fourth-line grinder known more for his right hook than scoring touch, had just skated by Dahlin and across the front of the Sabres’ net before jamming the puck past goalie Jonas Johansson to seal the Islanders' 5- 2 win. In years past, Dahlin’s frustration might have boiled over. One of the NHL’s bright young defensemen, Dahlin has grown accustomed to the sometimes overwhelming emotion that comes with failure. He’s experienced more than his fair share during his third season in the NHL. Entering Monday, Dahlin owned a league-worst minus-21 rating – on pace for minus-75 if this were an 82-game season – and advanced metrics illustrate how he’s struggling at times to adjust to a bigger role defensively. “It comes (down to forgetting) things, it comes (down) to working harder,” Dahlin said matter of factly. “You are allowed to get (upset) at yourself.
