Many of the worst violations have been in Patong, where in October last year a landslide that undermined the foundations of a holiday home and apartment block off Nanai Rd caused an emer- gency evacuation. Last April, an illegal logging camp was raided high in the hills near Tri Trang Beach. In November 2005, a landslide crashed through the wall of a dwelling on Nanai Rd, killing a Thai woman and her child.
