Deputy Speaker of the Israeli and Member Danny Danon Talking points for press conference with Rick Perry September 20, 2011 POLITICO’s Morning Score

The Palestinian Authority’s decision to apply for UN membership on Sept. 20 is a clear violation of the Oslo Accords, which clearly states that the final borders between and the Palestinians should be decided via negotiations.

The Israeli government has repeatedly attempted to negotiate a peace settlement with the Palestinians. Despite our inability to reach a final agreement, we never considered abandoning the principles of the Oslo Accords.

The Palestinian Authority’s unilateral action is unprecedented, and a slap in the face of both Israel and the United States.

As a result of this unilateral move, Israel will no longer be bound by its diplomatic, security and economic commitments to the Palestinians.

Consequentially, the State of Israel will have the right to extend its sovereignty to the Jewish communities within Judaea and Samaria. In addition, Israel should cut off all economic aid to the Palestinian Authority.

In the Knesset, I recently introduced a bill in support of this measure, and numerous Knesset members from across the political spectrum have since declared their support for this plan. Including the majority of my party – Likud.

Why is annexation a necessary step? I believe an independent Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria would pose a grave threat to Israel, with extending its control over the territory.

As a result, the ultimate solution to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a three-state plan involving Israel, and Egypt.

Despite Obama’s declaration that he would bring change and lasting peace to the Middle East, nothing positive has happened since he was elected.

If Abbas goes forward with his plan to seek recognition of a Palestinian state at the , then Obama has the obligation to cut off all funding to the Palestinian Authority.

None of these steps being taken by the Palestinians would have taken place had there been a friend of Israel in the white house. President Obama's poor and one sided treatment towards Israel has led to the region being even less stable.
