  • New York Giants 2012 Season Recap 2012 New York Giants
NEW YORK GIANTS 2012 SEASON RECAP The 2012 Giants finished 9-7 and in second place in the NFC East. It was the eighth consecutive season in which the Giants finished .500 or better, their longest such streak since they played 10 seasons in a row without a losing record from 1954-63. The Giants finished with a winning record for the third consecutive season, the first time they had done that since 1988-90 (when they were 10-6, 12-4, 13-3). Despite extending those streaks, they did not earn a postseason berth. The Giants lost control of their playoff destiny with back-to-back late-season defeats in Atlanta and Baltimore. They routed Philadelphia in their finale, but soon learned they were eliminated when Chicago beat Detroit. The Giants compiled numerous impressive statistics in 2012. They scored 429 points, the second-highest total in franchise history; the 1963 Giants scored 448. The 2012 season was the fifth in the 88-year history of the franchise in which the Giants scored more than 400 points. The Giants scored a franchise- record 278 points at home, shattering the old mark of 248, set in 2007. In their last three home games – victories over Green Bay, New Orleans and Philadelphia – the Giants scored 38, 52 and 42 points. The 2012 team allowed an NFL-low 20 sacks. The Giants were fourth in the NFL in both takeaways (35, four more than they had in 2011) and turnover differential (plus-14, a significant improvement over 2011’s plus-7). The plus-14 was the Giants’ best turnover differential since they were plus-25 in 1997.

  • Denver Broncos Regular Season Quotes Wednesday, Jan
Denver Broncos Regular Season Quotes Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 PRESIDENT JOE ELLIS Opening comments “Good afternoon and thank you. I want to start this and open it up by thanking Eric Studesville, our interim head coach under some adverse circumstances, I know that Eric wishes that the results on the field for the four weeks in which he was the interim head coach were better. But, he brought a lot of positive energy and passion to the job every day. I know that everybody in the building — employees, players and coaches really appreciated that. I do not know if Eric is here, but he deserves thanks from the organization for his efforts and we look forward to him in that process as we move forward. “Today is a great day and a very exciting day for our organization. John Elway, as it was released earlier today to all of you, is our new executive vice president of football operations. He will oversee all of football operations for the club. The structure will have both the head coach and the general manager reporting directly to John. And, what he brings to the job is this: He will bring great football knowledge, he will bring common sense and intelligence, competitive fire, leadership, a clear vision of where we need to go from this point on and most importantly, a complete and clear understanding and an appreciation of what the Denver Broncos mean to this community, to our fans and to (Owner and Chief Executive Officer) Pat Bowlen. With that, I would like Pat to come up and say a few words.” OWNER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER PAT BOWLEN Opening comments “There are a lot of things that I can say about John, but I am just going to say a few.

  • The Look Man Report 2007 Week Twenty-One: Straight Cash, Homey!
The Look Man Report 2007 Week Twenty-One: Straight Cash, Homey! "The NFL has a very preferred status in our country with their antitrust exemption. The American people are entitled to be sure about the integrity of the game. It's analogous to the CIA destruction of tapes, or any time you have records destroyed. What if there was something on the tapes we might want to be subpoenaed, for example? You can't destroy it. That would be obstruction of justice." - US Senator Arlen Spector on the NFL’s destruction of the Patriots’ Spygate video PROLOGUE The hype for the Super Bowl is in full throttle as the Big Game is less than 70 hours away. The cities of Phoenix and Scottsdale have long since geared up, boosting hotel, taxi and restaurant pricing in preparation for the corporate expense accounts. The Super Bowl has gone from an afterthought in 1967, to the verge of a national holiday in 2008. It’s a pity that the game made popular by the everyman now commands between $2500 and $20,000 for a two seat package. But this year may have something we haven’t seen for quite a while: a competitive game. Most pundits are saying that New England is unbeatable. Their 18-0 record is indicative of their dominance in the new age of free agency. New England is the best team ever; just look at their stats. Well, the Look Man is not big on stats. As we all know by now, figures never lie, but liars can figure.
