November 2014 ISBN 978-3-938249-06-2 Collection records of Noctuoidea and Bombycoidea (Lepidoptera) from a Location near Marmaris in South-Western Anatolia, Turkey Thomas BARON Key Words: Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea, Bombycoidea, Western Anatolia, Turkey Stichworte: Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea, Bombycoidea, Westanatolien, Türkei Deutsche Zusammenfassung Der Artikel fasst die Fangergebnisse des Autors in Turunç zusammen, einem kleinen Urlaubsort am Mittelmeer nahe Mar- maris in der Südwesttürkei. Gegenstand der Untersuchung sind die taxonomischen Gruppen Noctuoidea, Bombycoidea, Drepanoidea und Axioidea. Die Fänge erfolgten überwiegend am Licht. Diese Region der Türkei ist trotz leichter Erreichbarkeit erstaunlich schlecht erforscht. Es gibt für die Provinz Mugla bisher fast keine Daten für Nachtfalterfänge. Die Untersuchung fand über alle Jahreszeiten und an insgesamt 456 Tagen statt. Es wurde anhand der insgesamt über 4400 registrierten Individuen eine grobe Klassifizierung der Häufigkeit vorgenommen. Insgesamt konnten 168 Arten festgestellt werden. Die Zahl von Arten, die trotz derart langer Anstrengungen nur einmal festgestellt wurden, ist mit 25 relativ hoch. Es daher zu erwarten, dass einige weitere hier nicht aufgeführte Arten vorkommen. Für eine Reihe der festgestellten Spezies existieren bisher nur wenige Nachweise aus der Türkei. Eine Art ist neu für das Land. Weiterhin kann bei einigen nahverwandten Arten ein Beitrag zur Klärung von Verbreitungsgrenzen geleistet werden, die z.T. gerade in Kleinasien unklar sind. Durch das vor allem in Sommer extrem heisse und trockene Klima und den milden Winter fliegen einige Arten früher als bekannt. Viele hingegen fliegen später in den Herbst und Winter hinein, so dass eine ganze Reihe von in der Literatur nicht bekannten Flugzeiten aufgezeigt werden kann. -

Eos, t. LVII, págs. 187-193 (1981). Los cromosomas de ocho especies de Noctuidos (Lep., Heteroeera) POR E. ORTIZ y J. TEMPLADO. Los autores prosiguen en este trabajo las investigaciones que vienen realizando sobre diversas especies de lepidópteros de la fauna ibérica. Por una parte, estu- dian las fases de desarrollo y el ciclo estacional de cada especie en una localidad determinada ; por otra, analizan citológicamente material originario de la misma zona. De este modo esperan contribuir al conocimiento cariológico de los lepid6p- teros con datos lo más fidedignos posibles, a la vez que aclaran o precisan deter- minados datos de tipo sistemático o ecológico en especies con amplia variabilidad geográfica. El presente estudio incluye datos biológicos y citogenéticos sobre ocho especies de Noctuidae vinculadas, cuatro de ellas, a la región mediterránea, siendo las otras cuatro de más extensa distribución geográfica. Los datos sobre cada especie se han resumido al máximo. Conviene señalar que, como sucede en la mayoría de los lepidópteros, las gó- nadas masculinas de los noctuidos son pares en la fase de larva, se yuxtaponen en el período prepupal y acaban formando un solo cuerpo en la crisálida. El análisis citogenético se ha efectuado mediante la extracción de la/s gónada/s masculina/s, fijación con líquido de Carnoy, tinción con orceina propiónico-láctica y preparación por aplastamiento. De cada una de las especies estudiadas se incluye una fotografía de su cariotipo en metafase L en la cual se puede contar con faci- lidad el número haploide de cromosomas. A continuación se exponen los datos y observaciones correspondientes a las ocho especies estudiadas. -

Das Ordensband zählt zu den Wanderfaltern. Weiters ge Catocala coniuncta, lang der Nachweis zusätzlicher Arten der Gattung Catocala, unter anderem Catocala Leucania loeryi, nymphaea. Der Status des Wanderfalters, Leucania loreyi, in HUEMER 2013 für Kärnten Wanderfalter, nicht angeführt, wird korrigiert. The underwing moth belongs to the migrating Lepidoptera. Catocala coniuncta, Further additional species belonging to the genus Catocala, like Catocala nymphea, Leucania loeryi, were found. The status of migrant moth, Leucania loreyi, lacking in HUEMER 2013 for migrant Lepidoptera, Carinthia, is corrected. Carinthia, Dobratsch Im Rahmen der Masterarbeit des Autors wird die Biodiversität der Ordnung der Lepidoptera vom Gipfelbereich des Dobratsch erfasst. Der Dobratsch ist als Hotspot für Biodiversität bekannt, wobei vor allem be- züglich Schmetterlinge der Gipfelbereich wesentlich schlechter unter- sucht ist als das südlich vorgelagerte Bergsturzgebiet der Schütt (WIESER 1995). Insgesamt führte der Autor im Jahr 2013 acht Exkursionen durch. Die Kartierung nachtaktiver Falter fand in 13 unterschiedlichen Nächten mit je drei Leuchttürmen und Lichtfallen statt, wohingegen tagaktive Arten mittels Netzfang nachgewiesen wurden. Daraus ergaben sich ins- gesamt 1800 Belege. -

2 Dossier on Wild Fauna in the Maltese Islands: Capture, Killing and Exploitation - DRAFT Disclaimers: The development of this version of the Dossier has involved a desk-based exercise together with preliminary consultations with targeted governmental entities. The document has since been updated and shall undergo a second round of consultations targeting additional stakeholder groups including the general public. Any gaps in data or, other information deemed important to further build the substance of the document and hence arrive at practical, implementable, effective and agreed conservation action, will be addressed through such stakeholder consultation. Criteria employed in this Dossier for prioritising species for conservation action (Appendix V of document) will also be further refined via the consultation exercise. Further development of recommendations (Section 4 of document) will ensue in cooperation with potential partners so as to arrive at agreed and committed conservation action, before formal adoption. Where information is quoted throughout the document, the reader is directed to refer to the actual publications, should further information on that particular subject be required.
