СТАТИИ / PAPERS Treasure of gold appliqués for horse harness from Primorsko Petar Balabanov a*, Daniel Pantov b a Department of Archaeology, New Bulgarian University, 21 Montevideo Blvd.,1618 Sofia; [email protected] b Municipal History Museum–Primorsko, 6 Rezvaia Str., 8180 Primorsko; [email protected] * corresponding author ABSTRACT In 2016, rescue archeological excavations of a Thracian burial mound were conducted four kilometers to the north-west from the town of Primorsko in the locality “Silihlyar”. Foundations of a rectangular feature were discovered in the eastern part of the mound. Its walls followed the cardinal directions and were preserved up to 0.55 m in height. During the excavations of this feature, 40 gold appliqués of a horse harness were found under the walls and the floor. They were spread over an area of cca. 2 m². One of them was found in a mortar layer of the floor, while another seven were between the stones of the northern and eastern walls. The central element of the set represents a decorated shield to which an embossed eagle’s head was attached. The clay lamp buried together with the gold appliqués suggests a deposition date of the set in a relatively nar- row chronological range – 333-250 BC. The Treasure of Primorsko is the first fully preserved set of gold decorations for horse harness found to the south of the Balkan Mountains. Further interdisciplinary research is forthcoming. Bulgaria National Report 2013
Status of Argo Bulgaria, 1st March 2013 The Bulgarian Argo activities are framed by the BulArgo “Development of national research infrastructure as a component of Argo network” project, funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund. It comprises a consortium of three research organizations: the Institute of Oceanology in Varna, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Sofia. The focus of the ongoing research program is the monitoring of the Black Sea. 1. The status of implementation Bulgaria was first involved in the Argo activities in December 2009, when one French PROVOR float (#5902291) was deployed in the deep part of the Black Sea by the R/V Akademik operated by the Institute of Oceanology in Varna. Latter, in March 2011, three APEX floats (#6900803, #6900804 and #6900805) were deployed in the Black Sea by the same vessel. The floats were purchased by the BulArgo project; one of the floats was equipped by an oxygen sensor. Currently, the data are available at the Institute of Oceanology website (http://www.gisserver.io-bas.bg/Web_argo). Figure. Locations of surfacing of the 3 BulArgo floats since 18 March 2011. Four Italian floats (WMO 6901959, 6901960, 6901961 and 6901962) were deployed in 2012 in the Western Black Sea from the board of R/V Akademik by the Institute of Oceanology, Varna. These floats were Arvor-L instruments manufactured by NKE in France. They were programmed to perform sampling between the surface and 700/1500 dbar once every 5 days, as well as to collect observations at the parking depth of 200 dbar.

In accordance, thirteen more detailed symposium topics were announced and later on discussed at the scientific sessions, during the field trip along the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast and Strandzha Mt, and at the Symposium Round Table. In total, 65 scientific reports (5 plenary lectures, 26 oral presentations and 34 posters), prepared by 146 contributors from 11 countries were presented.

The analysis of horizontal fiscal imbalance covers the period 2007-2018 and uses several statistics measures to yield a complete picture of the trend of municipal fiscal disparities. The main findings suggest that disparities among municipalities in terms of own-source revenue were smaller at the end of the period than those at the beginning of the period as measured by the maximum-to-minimum ratio and the coefficient of variation. Regardless, municipal fiscal disparities are still considerable with very few rich municipalities which level of own-source revenue per capita is in sharp contrast to the rest of the municipalities.

The function and development of sport - animation activity in the resorts depend on the training, qualification and good piece of work of the workers. This scientific research is realized on the areas of the biggest Bulgarian tourist centres. The purposes of these scientific research are the analyses and diagnosis of the sport resources in the tourist business - theoretical and practical aspects. The research team realized following working problems: management of sport staff resourses in the tourist centres; sport-entertaiment equipment-anoperator ofamanagement ofasport animation in tourism; diagnosis of the sport staff working in the Bulgarian Black Sea resorts; analyses of human resourses of the spor-tourist business. The total number of researching people is 868. 292 of them are sport instructors, 288 are sport animators, 98 are sport managers and 190 are different sport workers. The proportion men / women is 51,35 % : 48,65 %. Bourgas District-Pomorie from Tourism Perspective
BULGARIA- SOUTH -EASTERN REGION- BOURGAS DISTRICT-POMORIE FROM TOURISM PERSPECTIVE GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION, BORDERS, SEA PORTS On south the South-Eastern Region borders on the Republic of Turkey by three Cross Border Checking Points: Burgas, Tzarevo and Malko Tarnovo. On east the region is wide open to the Black sea through the 8 ports - Burgas, Ahtopol, Tzarevo, Sozopol, Pomorie, Nesebar, Rosenetz and Ribno Port, BUT two major ports on the Black Sea is Varna and Burgas. Both act as East-West transport corridor gateways of Bulgaria. Port facilities are generally adequate for bulk commodities, but lack facilities for special handling. Rehabilitation of both ports is planned. Bourgas is the second largest port in Bulgaria, and is in close proximity to Serbia, FYROM (Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia), Greece and Turkey. The Bulgarian railways network and the Bulgarian national road system link Bourgas with major industrial inland points of the Balkans. Bourgas offers a large port facility, which can accommodate various ships and is close to a modern commercial airport. The Army has an agreement with the Bulgarian military to use it’s recreation facility located about 20 kilometers from the port, which they use to house task force personnel. Using this port provides the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. European Command, with another choice by providing another access point into the Balkans. Previously, KFOR used two ports for cargo movement supporting its troops in the U.S.-controlled sector of Kosovo—Thessaloniki, Greece and Bremerhaven, Germany. In port of Nessabar yearly are coming in big cruise ships, they make approximately 50 stops in this port per year.

Jana III Sobieskiego 2, 41-902 Bytom, Poland e-mail: [email protected] 2 National Museum of Natural History, Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd 1, 1000 Sofia, Bulgaria e-mail: [email protected] Abstract: The collections of neuropterid orders from Bulgaria and Romania preserved in museums in Poland (Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom and Museum and Institute of Zoology in Warsaw) are identified. Faunistic information on 89 species is reported: 77 species from Bulgaria and 37 species from Romania (25 species from both countries). Coniopteryx (Xeroconiopteryx) atlasensis, Megalomus tineoides, Cunctochrysa cosmia and Neuroleon assimilis are new species for the fauna of Bulgaria. These first records shift the range borders of three species with 190 to 700 km northwards. Easternmost localities of Phaeostigma (Phaeostigma) pilicollis and Nothochrysa capitata and northernmost locality of Neuroleon assimilis are registered. The new localities outline the borders of the ranges of 20 species. Very rare species are Phaeostigma (Pontoraphidia) rhodopicum (Balkan endemic species), Libelloides lacteus (a single population in Romania), Coniopteryx (Metaconiopteryx) lentiae (in Romania), Coniopteryx (Holoconiopteryx) haematica and Sagittalata perla (both in Bulgaria), and Nedroledon anatolicus (in both countries). INTRODUCTION The fauna of all three neuropterid orders of Romania and Bulgaria is well explored and the species diversity is almost fully known.
