Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state: to the reply given to Unstarred Question No. 4392 on August 21, 2000 and state:

(a) whether the said information has been collected;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not the reasons for delay in this regard; and

(d) the time by which the said information is likely to be collected? Answer

(a)&(b): The dispensary-wise information on local purchase of Allopathic medicines is given at Annexure-A.

The total consolidated expenditure on Allopathic, Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic system of medicines is given at Annexure-B.

Allopathic medicines are received from Medical Stores Organisation (MSO) in bulk against the indent placed by the CGHS Medical Stores Depot (MSD) and distributed to the individual CGHS dispensaries as per their demandT. he payment to the MSO is made by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on book adjustment basis against the complete supply to the CGHS Medical Stores Depot, New . The MSO does not supply any details to CGHS MSD, about the payments received by them on book adjustment through the DGHS. The MSO also does not indicate the Unit price of the medicines in their vouchers and therefore CGHS is not in a position to give the dispensary-wise expenditure of the medicines supplies received from the MSO.

The information relating to parts (b), (c) and (d) of the Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 4392 for 21.8.2000 are given at Annexure- C.

ANNEXURE `C`

(b) the details of established (b) The information is as practice adopted by the Govt. under:- to maintain the required quality and specifications of Allopathic: CGHS procures all Allopathic, Homoeopathic and the Formulary items from Ayurvedic medicines to ensure MSO(DGHS) which contains a that CGHS beneficiaries are certificate `that all supplied good quality of medicines are got tested and medicines are found of standard quality.` To ensure the quality random testing is also being done at Government/Government approved laboratories by CGHS and also by drug controller (Delhi State) on routine/complaint basis.

Homoeopathic: All the Homoeopathic mediciens are got tested from Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory, Ghaziabad to ensure the quality of medicines.

Ayurvedic Due to non availability of any Standarisation of Ayurvedic medicines, the medicines are being selected by the Inspection Committee by adopting Organaleptic method of test. However the medicines containing Gold Opium and Bhang are being tested at PLIM, Ghaziabad.
