MARK CUDEK is a founding member of the Baltimore Consort and Chair of the Early Music Department at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He is the Artistic Director of the Interlochen Early Music Workshop and the Indianapolis Early Music Festival. In 2014, he received the Global Achievement Award from the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association. He was Early Music America’s 2001 recipient of the Thomas Binkley Award for Outstanding Collegium Director and in 2005 received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Early Music Education. He was also the top prizewinner of the first annual Baltimore Chamber Music Competition. Cudek has been a guest artist with the Catacoustic Consort, Hesperus, Folger Consort, Western Wind, Piffaro, Pomerium and Apollo’s Fire. His appearances have included the Boston Early Music Festival; Tage Alter Music, Regensburg; Glasgow International Early Music Festival; Vienna Konzerthaus; Teatro Nacional, Panama; New York Metropolitan Museum; Spoleto Festival, Charleston; and the Kennedy Center. Radio appearances have included NPR, CBC and the BBC and he appeared on television for CNN's "World Beat." Cudek was also a featured performer on the Hunter's Moon and Sleepy Hollow sound tracks. He is former faculty of the College of the Virgin Islands and Towson University.
