Traditional coaching is insufficient because it (often unconsciously) centers around the adult instead of the child. Learning depends on the presence of the adult, takes place within the same environment and has a focus on short-term results. Additionally, despite the relative age effect (RAE) and its solutions already being known for decades, the RAE is still present in traditional education. There is often not enough focus, besides the clichés, on empowerment of the child and developing the child’s mental strengths.

My solution is based on child and adult initiation: proactive people, who are intrinsically motivated, enjoy the process, learn independently, and who are more creative. Besides training the body, we also train the brain.

It’s about the total development of the individual. This means that the emphasis is on the way of thinking (master the brain), overall movement (master the body) and technique (master the ball). Basically, we go back to the core of the game: having fun whilst improving the players individual skills within team context.

This happens through a variety of exercises and games, whereby the organization transfers the authority to the adults and the adults to the children. This will challenge the individual's creativity and give them ownership over their development. The goal is to train the brain and body so that there is a solution for every situation that occurs on and off the field. Mindset exercises can be used to accelerate the learning curves.

Additionally, an individual plan based on the adults and child's needs is necessary. This plan will structure their activities and will be regularly updated. Activities need to be recorded for analysis. Master the brain Mentoring Independence Intrinsic motivation Visualization Game intelligence Teamwork Recording activities to analyze

After my interships at AFC Ajax and before focussing on Montessori Sports and Jip Bartels Coaching, I worked for Football Star Academy in Australia. My role as Head Coordinator and Coach was to improve and expand their award winning programs throughout Australia whilst coaching as well. However, as I believed in a different approach I chose to focus on Montessori Sports and Jip Bartels Coaching.

Under the umbrella of Jip Bartels Coaching, I have coached youth teams and mentored many individual boys and girls, whom still work with me. Most of them already play for a professional club, some are close to that and others just work with me to become the best version of themselves.

In my role as director for Montessori Sports, I run courses, workshop and materclasses besides running sports sessions and holiday programs. Football Background

AFC Ajax (2007 - 2012)

Dutch national youth teams (2006 - 2010)

FC (2012 - 2013)

Semi-professional (2013 - current) Personal Background

During my first year at University, I still had a professional contract as a player at FC Utrecht.

The five years before that, I have had a professional contract at AFC Ajax whilst playing for the Dutch national youth teams. During this period, I have won many individual and team prices. I believed that staying at Ajax would be the best for my development, despite the interest from clubs like Arsenal FC and AC Milan.

After three consecutive ACL injuries at the age of 17, 18 and 19, I chose for the semi-professional club TEC, which is active in the Second Division in Holland.

Due to this setback my dream of becoming a football star was over. However, this motivated me to set other ambitious goals in life.

I am known as a very ambitious, sportive, positive and social man. If I were to describe myself in two words, I would choose energetic and disciplined. Educational Background
