While Granada need only to avoid defeat against PSV to qualify, the Dutch side will go through if they win in Spain for the first time and PAOK lose at bottom-placed Omonoia. Previous meetings • Granada could hardly have wished for a better start to their first European group campaign – in their maiden encounter with Dutch opposition – when they came from behind to beat PSV 2-1 in Eindhoven on Matchday 1, veteran striker Jorge Molina equalising Mario Götze's opener before Darwin Machís struck a 66th-minute winner. • PSV have now met Spanish clubs 31 times, winning just four of those matches and none in Spain, where their record is D5 L10. The only time they have avoided defeat on their last seven visits to the country was in the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League round of 16, but after drawing 0-0 with Atlético de Madrid they lost the ensuing penalty shoot-out 9-8. Form guide Granada • Granada earned a historic first qualification for European competition by finishing seventh in the 2019/20 Spanish Liga, having been promoted just the season before. • Diego Martínez's side began the club's maiden continental voyage in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, kicking off with a 4-0 win at Albanian side Teuta before sealing further progress with a 2-0 home win against Locomotive Tbilisi of Georgia and a 3-1 play-off success against Malmö in southern Sweden. • Granada's 0-0 draw at home to PAOK on Matchday 2 is the only one of the club's seven European games they have failed to win. They have conceded just three goals in those matches, never more than one in any game. PSV • The 1988 European champions finished fourth in the curtailed 2019/20 Dutch Eredivisie, earning a place in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round. Under their new German coach Roger Schmidt they won away to both Mura (5-1) and Rosenborg (2-0) this season to secure a record-equalling eighth group stage berth. • Last season, having been defeated by Basel on away goals in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round (3-2 h, 1-2 a), PSV advanced into the UEFA Europa League group stage but went no further, eliminated after successive heavy away defeats at LASK (1-4) and Sporting CP (0-4). The 2010/11 quarter-finalists have now failed to progress from their group in four of the last five attempts. • PSV were unbeaten in their first nine away games in the UEFA Europa League group stage (W7 D2), but have lost seven of the 14 since (W5 D2). They have also gone nine games without a victory on the road during the autumn in the UEFA Champions League (D3 L6).
