The Junior Prom is set for Saturday, May 6. In order to have a successful prom, we need to make sure all dues are paid and everyone participates in fundraising. More Information on the New Grading System As part of the new grading practices in Baltimore County, students are required to pass at least one quarter each semester in order to pass for the year. So, even if a student passes both the first and sec- ond quarter, if he or she were to earn an E third quarter and fourth quarter, the student would earn a failing grade for the entire year. The opposite is also true. If a student fails the first and second quar- ter, but then passes both the third and fourth quarter, he or she may still receive a failing grade for the class. It is important that students work hard every quarter to get the best possible grade they can. Page 6 BCPS One Communication Center Beginning Friday, November 4, 2016, when you log into BCPS One, a Communication Center will appear in the upper right corner of the landing page (see sample below). She is the first Parkville High student to earn this honor. The scholarship was announced during a virtual Unsung Heroes program event hosted by McCormick and Company, Inc., on May 3. Holley and the other Charles Perry McCormick Scholarship recipient were chosen from 100 Baltimore area student athletes recognized as Unsung Heroes this year. When the women’s lacrosse team at Parkville High needed a goalie, Holley, a field player, stepped up to learn new skills to benefit the team. During the pandemic, she also volunteered to be a group leader during the team's virtual practice sessions. Her coach, Shannon McFadden, describes Holley as the team's morale booster. In previous years, the Departments of Fiscal Services and Legislative Reference each produced reports summarizing the activities of the General Assembly during its most recent legislative session. This year, the Department of Legislative Services has produced this single detailed report which incorporates the best features of the Sine Die Report and the Session Review. The 90 Day Report consists of two volumes. Volume I is divided into 13 parts, each dealing with a major policy area. Each part contains a discussion of the majority of bills passed in that policy area, including comparisons with previous sessions and current law, background information, and a discussion of significant bills that did not pass. Information relating to the Operating Budget, Capital Budget, and aid to local governments is found in Part A of this volume. Volume II, organized in the same manner as Volume I, consists of a list of all bills passed and a short synopsis stating the purpose of each bill. I hope that you will find The 90 Day Report as helpful this year as you have found the Sine Die Report and the Session Review to be in the past. Further, the Department of Legislative Services will make available the Fact Book and Citizen's Tax Guide shortly.
