PRESS INFORMATION MICHELIN AND VIÑALES ARE VICTORIOUS IN VICTORIA Michelin saw its named MotoGP™ race in the Australian state of Victoria produce an exciting contest today as Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took victory in the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island. The whole weekend at the 4,448m circuit had been shaped by strong, gusting winds and cold track temperatures, which caused all the riders and manufacturers difficulties in set-up and choosing the best compound of MICHELIN Power Slick tyres for today’s race. As the start drew close, four of the six available compounds were chosen, with just the hard front and medium rear not making the grid. Pole-setter and World Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) went with a medium front and rear hard slick, but it was Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) - soft front and hard rear - that got the holeshot and led into the first corner. After the first lap, local hero Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) led the field over the line, before the race lead then changed hands several times over the ensuing laps. Unfortunately, a collision between Marquez and Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) saw the champion retire and the Frenchman crash out, but that didn’t stop the excitement as the riders pushed their tyres to the limit on the cold surface, with their MICHELIN Power Slicks giving them the confidence to drive their machines through Phillip Island’s fast corners. Viñales took the lead on lap-eight and he controlled the attack on his Yamaha - shod with a soft front compound tyre and hard rear - to perfection as he never came under threat from the chasing pack. -

Motogp Best Grand Prix 2012 and 2017, but He Has Also Been a Pioneer in Using This Platform to Support Motorcycling in Malaysia in All Aspects and Disciplines
MANAGEMENT, TEAM & RIDERS PROFILE 1 Dato’ Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali Team Principal Razlan Razali (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 1972) has been one of the main catalysts to the booming popularity of motorcycle racing in Malaysia and South East Asia in recent years. Razlan’s career has been dedicated to the development of motorsport in his country, coming up with new business ventures and strategies to help improve the conditions of the sport. In October 2008 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Sepang International Circuit, since which time he has further enhanced the good name of the track and motorsport. His work has not only been to make Sepang one of the most internationally recognised and decorated circuits, evidenced by the award for MotoGP Best Grand Prix 2012 and 2017, but he has also been a pioneer in using this platform to support motorcycling in Malaysia in all aspects and disciplines. Razlan’s first great achievement in the world of two wheels was to have two home riders competing in the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2009, which was an historic moment for the nation. Since then there has constantly been a full-time Malaysian rider contesting at least one of the categories within the MotoGP World Championship, with the trailblazing Zulfahmi Khairuddin as the reference point. The second big milestone came in 2015 with the creation of the SIC Racing Team in Moto3, achieving two podium finishes in its first season. In 2018 the team was extended to include Moto2 and in 2019 it took the big step up to the premier class. -
Monsieur Jean Dujardin
To: all the FMNs and CONUs cc.: the CCR Members DORNA, IRTA & MSMA 21 December 2017 C/014/2017bis CCR Annual licences for permanent riders participating in the 2018 FIM Grand Prix World Championships (Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP) Dear President, Dear Secretary General, We have pleasure in reminding you that, in accordance with the decision taken by the 2016 FIM General Assembly in Berlin, the circuit racing GP riders will be ordering their 2018 and future FIM licences through the intermediary of their FMNs. You will find attached the provisional list of riders who will participate in the 2018 FIM Grand Prix World Championships. To iron out a number of problems that arose with the initial change of procedure, and to ensure that the GP licence ordering process is as easy and transparent as possible, we set out a number of key points below for your attention: MotoGP riders will benefit from insurance covering them for GP and IRTA tests. It is therefore not necessary for the FMN to provide insurance cover for these riders for their participation in the FIM GP World Championships. GP licenses will be charged to the FMNs at the price of 1'200 Euros. They may not be billed to GP riders at a higher price. The FIM does not oblige a GP rider to hold a national licence. However a mandatory application for a national licence through the concerned FMN is reserved (depending inter alia on the national legislation applicable). National Federations issuing these GP licences will be exempted from their obligation to ensure that the riders and their doctor have duly completed and signed Appendices A and B of the FIM Medical Code.
