Blue Triangle Vintage Bus Services – New for 2006 BLUE TRIANGLE VINTAGE BUS SERVICES – NEW FOR 2006 Blue Triangle will be operating three new vintage bus services in North Essex on certain dates (see overleaf) between May and December in 2006, using a selection of RT/RTW, Routemaster, MCW Metrobus and Leyland Titan types from their current operational fleet. In addition, a number of other vintage vehicles, currently under restoration, will appear during the summer/autumn. Four buses will be used on each day of operation. It is also hoped that guest vehicles from other local bus operators will be running on selected dates. These services aim to recreate parts of routes 363 and 622, which were operated by Blue Triangle on Sundays in the late 1980s. Route 339 will provide connections to and from London Underground Central Line services at Epping. These routes will not participate in the Essex County Council Sunday Saver/Sunday Rover schemes, however a "Golden Phoamer" ticket giving a day's unlimited travel on routes 339, 363 and 622 will be available from conductors/drivers at £6. Ordinary single fares will also be available throughout all three routes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROUTE 339 EPPING – THORNWOOD – POTTER STREET – HARLOW Epping Station 0911 1011 1111 Potter Street Red Lion 0923 1023 1123 Harlow Bus Station 0933 1033 1133 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROUTE 363 BACON END/GREAT DUNMOW – FELSTED – BRAINTREE – CRESSING - WITHAM ROUTE 622 HARLOW – HATFIELD HEATH – GREAT DUNMOW – FELSTED - BRAINTREE Route 622 363 622 622 363 363 622 363 363 622 363 362 622 363 Harlow Bus Station 0938 1038 1138 1238 1438 1638 Old Harlow Post Office 0944 1044 1144 1244 1444 1644 Sheering Cock 0953 1053 1153 1253 1453 1653 Hatfield Heath Stag 0956 1056 1156 1256 1456 1656 Hatfield Broad Oak Dukes Head 1002 1102 1202 1302 1502 1702 Takeley Four Ashes 1008 1108 1208 1308 1508 1708 Bacon End Banana Factory _ _ _ 1252 _ _ 1612 _ Great Dunmow Post Office 1017 1117 1217 1259 1317 1449 1517 1619 1649 1717 Little Dunmow Throws Cnr (a) 1021 1121 1221 1303 1321 1453 1521 1623 1653 1721 (d) 1023 1123 1223 1303 1323 1453 1523 1625 1653 1723 Little Dunmow Post Office 1025 1125 1225 1305 1325 1455 1525 1627 1655 1725 Felsted Church 1030 1130 1230 1310 1330 1500 1530 1632 1700 1730 Rayne Welsh Princess 1039 1139 1239 1319 1339 1509 1539 1641 1709 1739 Braintree Bus Park 1048 1058 1148 1248 1258 1328 1348 1448 1518 1548 1650 1718 1748 1806 Tye Green Post Office 1107 1307 1457 1659 1815 Cressing Three Ashes 1111 1311 1501 1703 1819 Silver End, Boars Tye Road, Temple Ln 1116 1316 1506 1708 1824 Rivenhall Oak 1120 1320 1510 1712 1828 Witham Conrad Road 1124 1324 1514 1716 1832 Witham Station 1130 1330 1520 1722 1838 ROUTE 363 WITHAM – CRESSING – BRAINTREE – FELSTED – GREAT DUNMOW/BACON END ROUTE 622 BRAINTREE – FELSTED – GREAT DUNMOW – HATFIELD HEATH - HARLOW Route 363 622 363 622 363 622 363 363 622 363 622 622 Witham Station 1016 1136 1336 1526 1729 Witham Conrad Road 1022 1142 1342 1532 1735 Rivenhall Oak 1026 1146 1346 1536 1739 Silver End, Boars Tye Road, Temple Ln 1030 1150 1350 1540 1743 Cressing Three Ashes 1035 1155 1355 1545 1748 Tye Green Post Office 1039 1159 1359 1549 1752 Braintree Bus Park 1048 1056 1208 1256 1408 1456 1528 1558 1656 1801 1806 1836 Rayne Welsh Princess 1105 1217 1305 1417 1505 1537 1607 1705 1815 1845 Felsted Church 1114 1226 1314 1426 1514 1546 1616 1714 1824 1854 Little Dunmow Post Office 1119 1231 1319 1431 1519 1551 1621 1719 1829 1859 Little Dunmow Throws Cnr (a) 1121 1233 1321 1433 1521 1553 1623 1721 1831 1901 (d) 1123 1233 1323 1433 1523 1553 1625 1723 1831 1901 Great Dunmow Post Office 1127 1237 1327 1437 1527 1557 1629 1727 1835 1905 Bacon End Banana Factory _ 1244 _ _ 1604 _ _ _ Takeley Four Ashes 1136 1336 1536 1736 1844 1914 Hatfield Broad Oak Dukes Head 1142 1342 1542 1742 1850 1920 Hatfield Heath Stag 1148 1348 1548 1748 1856 1926 Sheering Cock 1151 1351 1551 1751 1859 1929 Old Harlow Post Office 1200 1400 1600 1800 1907 1937 Harlow Bus Station 1208 1408 1608 1808 1915 1945 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROUTE 339 HARLOW – POTTER STREET – THORNWOOD - EPPING Harlow Bus Station 1813 1920 1950 Potter Street Red Lion 1823 1930 2000 Epping Station 1835 1942 2012 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dates of Operation : Sunday 7 May 2006 – Sunday 28 May 2006 – Monday 29 May 2006 – Sunday 18 June 2006 – Sunday 16 July 2006 Sunday 6 August 2006 – Sunday 27 August 2006 – Sunday 17 September 2006 Sunday 15 October 2006 - Sunday 19 November 2006 – Sunday 10 December 2006 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION : Telephone : 01708 631001 or check out our website at www.bluetrianglebuses.com just before each day of operation, for the latest news. .

  • The History of Witham Monthly Meeting 1647 – 1953 1
THE HISTORY OF WITHAM MONTHLY MEETING 1647 – 1953 1 The story of Quakerism in this district goes back to the days of George Fox; there is an entry in his Journal to the effect that when he visited Chelmsford all the Quakers were in prison. The records of births dates from 1647 – one of the earliest in the country – and apart from about 70 years covering the end of the last century to 1922, the records cover nearly 300 years. It is a very mixed story, very human as well as revealing the life of a small community against the background of a changing England – we realise this when we remember that we are thinking of Quakers who were alive in this district in the Civil War, as well as those who saw the industrial revolution. In 1672, when the Witham Monthly Meeting minutes commence, Charles II was on the throne, John Milton was alive and the Acts of Toleration had not been passed. In the Essex Record Office there are volumes of minutes covering the years 1672/1850, and some later ones are still in the hands of Friends. Among records of Births, Marriages and Deaths mention is made of Quakers born in 1616 thus we are in touch with those living in the days of James I, and the year that Shakespeare died. The first recorded Monthly Meeting was at Heybridge on the 9 th . of 4 th .month 1672 2 and contains applications for marriage; the first Monthly Meeting at Witham so far as the records go, was on the 10 th .
