Telenor to transmit two Indian TV-channels

ColourSat, a business unit in Telenor Broadband Services will soon add two new channels to its rapidly expanding line-up of ethnic and thematic channels. The company has signed an agreement with the UK based Indian production company, Eros Network Ltd., to distribute Movies and in . Distribution of the two Indian channels is scheduled to start at the beginning of August.

- We are very pleased to be adding another two more quality channels to our line-up. The B4U channels fit very well into our market expansion plans, says Geir Bryn-Jensen, Director of Business Development in ColourSat.

B4U Movies daily airs at least five Indian , based programmes, music videos and other entertaining and informative programmes including soap operas. B4U Music features film music, music videos and music-related programs. As the name suggests, all B4U programming is produced in Bollywood, equivalent to Hollywood, which churns out more movies and television programmes than anywhere else in the world.

As with its other channels, ColourSat plans to transmit and B4U Music through a variety of distribution channels, including cable operators, direct-to-home, SMATV and to other market segments. Beginning next month, the channels will be transmitted via Telenors satellites at 1 degree West.

ColourSat distributes a number of channels, including the Pakistani Prime TV, Russias ORT International and various Scandinavian channels. Since its launch in 1998, the business unit has worked to rapidly build a strong blend of ethnic and thematic infotainment, which is broadcast throughout Europe.
