Military Information & Check List for Walt Disney World Thank you so much for your service to our great nation! Practically Perfect Vacations is grateful for your time spent in the military protecting our country, and we are proud to help you plan the most magical trip by finding you great rates and telling you how Disney shows their appreciation for your service as well! If you’re reading this, you most likely booked your resort with a military discount, and/or have gotten your theme park tickets at a fantastic discounted rate from your local military installation. Below are a few helpful tips and reminders of what to bring with you to ensure that your tickets are activated, as well as some other great information for your trip. Military/Spouse ID: Bring this with you! You will need it to activate your tickets at the park. Tickets: You may purchase a 4 or 5-day Park Hopper discounted ticket at your local military installation prior to your trip, or you may also purchase them at Shades of Green in the Magic Kingdom resort area. You have received small ticket receipts with the confirmation number on them, which was used to activate the tickets on your My Disney Experience account. Write the corresponding names on the ticket receipts for convenience later. Please bring these ticket stubs with you!! They are essential for you to get into the park! (See First Day at the Parks) If you, the military member/spouse, choose to have an Annual Pass for WDW, you may use this while the rest of your party uses the discounted military tickets, but you MUST be in the traveling party. First Day at the Parks: You must go to a ticket or Guest Relation window at the theme parks, water parks, Transportation & Ticket Center or Guest Relations locations in Disney Springs in order to “activate” the military park hoppers. You will need ALL guests in your party who are using the military tickets, the ticket receipts (mentioned above), your Magic Bands, and your Military ID. This is only necessary for the first day/first entrance to the park; after which, all guests can come and go as they please. Memory Maker: Disney offers the Memory Maker at a discounted rate of $98 to military members – maximum of two per military member and/or spouse. This discounted Memory Maker can be purchased from January 1st – December 19th only at the theme park ticket windows. Retreat Ceremony at Magic Kingdom: At 1700 hours (5pm) at the Town Square in Main Street, the Magic Kingdom Color Guard and the Main Street Philharmonic surround the flag pole and play Retreat. As the flag is lowered and retired for the day, all veterans are encouraged to salute during this time. At random, a U.S. Veteran is chosen to participate in the ceremony as well, and is handed the flag flown at Magic Kingdom as a gift. This occurs every day at Magic Kingdom at 5pm on the dot! Be there to witness this wonderful way to honor all of those who have served our country. .
