About Bhubaneswar The history of the city stretches back over 2000 years. The area first appears as the ancient capital of Kalinga. Bhubaneswar , the 'city of temples', named after SPIRIT COLLABORATIVE Tribhuvaneswar, 'Lord of Three Worlds', still preserves over 500 of India's finest temples, around which the religious life of the city revolves.

Nandankanan Zoological Park Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 400-hectare zoo and botanical garden in Bhubaneswar, Odisha,

India. Established in 1960, it

was opened to the public in THINKING EXPERT 1979 and became the first zoo in India to join World Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 2009. The park remains closed on Mondays.

Dhauli Dhauli hills are located on the banks SPIRIT COLLABORATIVE of the river Daya, 8 km south of Bhubaneswar in Odisha (India). It is a hill with vast open space adjoining it, and has major Edicts of engraved on a mass of rock, by the side of the road

leading to the summit of the hill. Dhauli hill is

presumed to be the UNRELENTIN area where the Kalinga War was fought. The rock-cut elephant above the Edicts is the earliest Buddhist sculpture of Odisha. On the top of the hill, a dazzling white peace has been built by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha in the 1970s. The Dhauligiri hills also has an ancient Shiva temple which is the place for mass gathering DEDICATION G during Shivaratri Celebrations. The state’s first light and sound show has started at the Dhauli hill, easily identified by the Shanti Stupa at the top. The show will be held on all days except Mondays.

Jagannath Temple, Puri The Jagannath Temple of Puri is a

sacred Vaishnava temple dedicated to

Lord Jagannath and located on the THINKING EXPERT eastern coast of India, at Puri in the state of Odisha. The temple is an important pilgrimage destination and is particularly visited by devotees of Supreme lord Sri and is one of the pilgrimages that anyone is expected to make in one's

lifetime.

The temple is famous for its annual Rath Yatra, or chariot festival, in which the three main temple are hauled on huge and elaborately decorated temple cars. Since

medieval times, it is also SPIRIT COLLABORATIVE associated with intense religious fervor. Even though the icons of most that are worshiped are made out of stone or metal, the image of Jagannath is wooden. Every twelve or nineteen years these wooden figures are ceremoniously replaced by using sacred trees, which have to be carved as an exact replica. The temple remains open from 5 am to 12 midnight. Special darshan or Parimanik darshan is when devotees on paying 50 Rupees are allowed right up to the deities. Parimanik darshan happens after the dhupa pujas at around 10 am, 1 pm and 8 pm. At all other times devotees can view the UNRELENTIN deities from some distance for free.

Konark Sun Temple

Konark is a medium town in the in the state of Odisha, India. It lies on the G DEDICATION DEDICATION G coast by the , 65 kilometers from the capital of the state, Bhubaneswar. It is the site of the 13th-century Sun Temple, also known as the Black Pagoda, built in black granite during the reign of Narasimhadeva-I.

The temple is a World Heritage Site. The temple is now mostly in ruins, and a collection of its sculptures is housed in the Sun Temple Museum, which is run

by the Archaeological Survey of

The Sun Temple was built in the 13th century and designed as a gigantic chariot of the Sun God, , with twelve pairs of ornamented wheels pulled by seven horses. Some of the wheels are 3 meters wide. Only six of the seven horse still stand today. One can reach Konark either from Bhubaneswar or from Puri. From Bhubaneswar airport Konark is just 64 kilometer and

deluxe buses are available at frequent interval during whole day time. Also taxi services are adequately available. From Puri, the distance is about 34 Km. One can take a bus or taxi from Puri railway station or he can also avail the train service towards Konark which is not so frequent.
