He had a career-high 37 points at Northwestern State and followed that up with 36 at home in a 112-77 win over New Orleans. BY THE NUMBERS: UCA is one SLC victory away from tying its most conference wins since joining the SLC in 2006-07. The Bears went 7-11 in league play in 2012-13. • UCA had three double-doubles vs. Northwestern State, believed to be a school record. • UCA had its first two-game winning streak since Feb. 27/March 3, 2013 when it beat Sam Houston 89-71 and Lamar 76-69 in consecutive games. It’s last three-game streak was late in the 2012-13 season when it beat SIU-Edwardsville, Lamar, McNeese State and Oral Roberts in a row. • UCA’s 35-point win over New Orleans on Feb. 6 was the largest margin of victory vs. an SLC team since joining the league in 2006-07. • UCA made a season-high 13 three-pointers in the first meeting with New Orleans on Jan. 25. Howard was 7 of 11, while Justin Foreman and Derreck Brooks had two apiece. • Howard has the top three scoring games in SLC play this season with 37 at Northwestern State and 36 at Texas A&M-CC and vs. New Orleans. • Graduate center Jake Zuilhof had his fourth game of the season with double figure rebounds (career high 15) vs. McNeese State, the fifth of his career. • UCA had a season-high three players (Zuilhof, Justin Foreman, Mathieu Kamba) foul out at New Orleans, and four others finished with three. • The Bears had a 3.2 cumulative GPA (12 of 14 had at least a 3.0) for the fall semester, precipitating a relief from APR penalties beginning with the 2016-17 season. UCA will be ineligible for postseason play for a second year this season due to APR issues under the former coaching staffs. • UCA matched its win total (2) from last year with the 93-76 win over Lamar on Jan. 9. • The 17-point margin of victory over Lamar was the most since an 86-69 win over Houston Baptist on 1/4/14.
