Our dedicated JV duo Nov 4 West Vancouver 3:15pm West Vancouver of teacher-coaches Ten Hon Choo and Joe Burke are together again and this year Administration John McFarland – Principal will be joined by Joe Vernier (VC’05) as our newest JV teacher-coach. Congratulations and good luck to Rob Scott Vass – Athletic Director Playing Venues Kozikowski (VC ’94) who takes over as Gr. 8 head coach this year following a decade of work as the varsity Andrea Prout-Bernett – General Manager Athletics defensive coordinator. Also on the Gr. 8 staff as a teacher-coach is Jordan Harbidge. Both the JV and Gr. 8 Home Practice teams are assisted every year by volunteer coaches. Please read the staffing lists for all three teams at the Varsity Managers O’Hagan Field Montgomery Park front of this program so you are familiar with who is coaching our boys. Jordan de la Rosa (Grade 10) 40th Avenue & Cartier St. 42nd Avenue & Selkirk St. Thanks to our new athletics director and strength coach Scott Vass. Thanks to Andrea Prout-Bernett for her Connor McGuinness (Grade 11) Bradly Gazzola (Grade 9) behind the scenes work with registration and game day coordination. We continue to rely on the help of Varsity Captains Christian Covington so many staff to make this possible, but special thanks to Tricia Marcotte, Mer Merghetti, and Darren Game Films Adam Konar Yanko for their never ending devotion to VC athletic Dr. Gary Koss has been our team physician for over Phil Bourgeois (VC’04) Patrick Cotterall two decades, and former VC parents John Chiang and Dave Fong are our team photographers. Chris Blanchette Jordan De La Rosa (Grade 10) Lendl Magsipoc returns in his role as communications coordinator, and Sharon Sangha and Angela Chiu keep everyone happy and full at our post game receptions. My personal gratitude to Rick Gazzola who keeps this program healthy Irish Supporters and looking good in his role as trainer and equipment manager.     PREGAME NOTES 2019 TIM HORTONS NHL HERITAGE CLASSIC WINNIPEG JETS vs. CALGARY FLAMES MOSAIC STADIUM, REGINA, SASK. – OCT. 26, 2019 JETS, FLAMES FACE OFF OUTDOORS The Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames face off tonight in the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic (10 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CST, CBC, SN1, CITY, TVAS2, NBCSN) – the League’s 28th regular-season outdoor game and fifth in the Heritage Classic series. The Jets and Flames each have participated in one prior outdoor game, both under the Heritage Classic umbrella. Winnipeg played host to the 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic at Investors Group Field, falling 3-0 to the Edmonton Oilers. Nine Jets players who appeared in that game remain with the team: Kyle Connor, Nikolaj Ehlers, Connor Hellebuyck, Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey, Mathieu Perreault, Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. Current Calgary goaltender Cam Talbot started for Edmonton in that contest, stopping all 31 shots he faced for the third shutout in outdoor NHL game history.     INFORMATION BULLETIN BC PLACE REVITALIZATION FINAL COST VANCOUVER, BC: BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) announced today the final cost for the new BC Place is $514 million. The final approved budget for the stadium revitalization project was $563 million. The project was completed $49 million under budget primarily through savings achieved during the Phase 2 Retractable Roof project. BC Place was revitalized in two stages over a period of more than three years, involving more than 5000 skilled professionals and tradespeople. BC Place was awarded ‘Project of the Year’ at the StadiumBusiness Awards in Italy, in May 2012. The stadium has also been nominated for the BC Hydro PowerSmart Excellence Awards in the ‘New Construction’ Category – achieving approximately 38 per cent in electrical savings from eliminating the old air-supported roof. Furthermore, the Rick Hansen foundation recently featured BC Place as an “Accessible Success Story” - for ‘new accessible features of a community facility’. Reopening September 30, 2011, the new BC Place became the new home to Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and home to the returning BC Lions Football Club and the BC Sports Hall of Fame. In its first year, the new multipurpose facility has hosted a wide range of events including: the 99th CFL Grey Cup Championship, 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Soccer Tournament, CIS Vanier Cup, BC High School Football Championship, Monster Jam, the 50th Annual Vancouver International Boat Show, BC Home and Garden Show, PlayDome, Vancouver International Auto Show, The Vancouver Sun Run, EAT!
