For Immediate Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS (Friday, May 10 – Sunday, May 19, 2013) Andy Cohen Night, Ladies Weekend, and Ice Mountain Autograph Night highlight the third homestand of 2013 ST. LOUIS – May 10, 2013 – Following a six-game road trip to Milwaukee and Chicago (5-1), the Cardinals return to St. Louis for a ten-game homestand, one of the longest of the season. The homestand begins with a three game series against the Colorado Rockies this weekend, continues with a four-game series against the New York Mets in their only visit to Busch this season, and concludes with a three-game series versus the Milwaukee Brewers. The homestand is highlighted by several theme ticket promotions such as Andy Cohen Night, College Night and Bosnian Heritage Day, as well as Ice Mountain Autograph Night, Replica Women’s Mike Matheny Jersey Day, Ladies Floppy Sun Hat Day, and the Kids High Sport Sock giveaway. Friday, May 10, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies (7:15 p.m.) Budweiser Bash Friday: Enjoy live music, prizes, the Budweiser Build-a-Bar, and autographs in the Ford Plaza beginning at 6:00 p.m. The first 200 fans to line up at the Budweiser Bash entrance (Gate 5) will be given guaranteed autograph line tickets for Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn. Only fans with autograph tickets will receive an autograph. Autograph ticket distribution begins one hour prior to gates opening. Budweiser Bash Fridays are sponsored by Budweiser Beer. Andy Cohen Night at the Ballpark: The Cardinals are celebrating Emmy Award-winning television personality, author, and St. Louis native, Andy Cohen during the first ever Andy Cohen Night at Busch Stadium. Cohen, a lifelong Cardinals fan, is the Executive Vice President of Development and Talent for Bravo as well as the host and executive producer of Watch What Happens Live, Bravo’s late night, interactive talk show. Cohen will throw out a ceremonial pitch prior to the game. Fans that purchase the special event ticket will receive an Andy Cohen bobblehead. VIP ticketed-guests will also receive a signed copy of Cohen’s book, Most Talkative during a VIP meet and greet event. Honorary Bat Girl: The Cardinals are proud to present Kathy Day, a breast cancer survivor, as the winner of the 2013 Honorary Bat Girl Contest. With so many young pitchers on the staff, Crisp's defensive ability is especially valuable. Crisp's agent, Steve Comte, confirmed that he has continued to talk to the A's, and he said Monday that Crisp has decided where he will play this season. "Covelli has made up his mind," said Comte, using Crisp's given name. "Basically, we just have to let that team know." The Cubs and Dodgers are other teams recently linked to the Crisp. The Orioles also are interested, according to cbssports.com. Comte estimated that he has spoken to 13-14 teams about Crisp this winter. Crisp has said that he wants to play for a contender, and though the A's are clearly in rebuilding mode, Comte said, "They're intriguing. It will be interesting how it plays out. They've moved a tremendous amount of personnel, but there is a plan there." The A's have spoken to many free-agent outfielders, including onetime Oakland prospect Ryan Ludwick, according to a major-league source. Other possibilities include ex-Giant Cody Ross and Conor Jackson, whom the A's traded to Boston in late August.

More than 250 guests joined Jay at Splitsville Lanes in Miami on Jan. 27 for a fun-filled event that benefited Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Project Learn After-School Program, serving Club members in grades K–8. The sold-out crowd included Major League Baseball stars and local celebrities including Gio Gonzalez (Washington Nationals), Jon Beason (retired NFL), Kevin Seigrist (St. Louis Cardinals), Tommy Pham (St. Louis Cardinals), Kolten Wong (St. Louis Cardinals) and Danny Valencia (MLB free agent). He was the second of thirteen children (eight boys and five girls) born to Will and Clara Hairston. Will Hairston moved his family from Crawford to the Birmingham area in 1922. The primary reason for the move was to find better work so that he could support his large family. Will became a coal miner and worked alongside Garnett Bankhead who was the father of the five Bankhead brothers who all played in the Negro Leagues. By 1930 Will had gained employment with American Cast Iron and Pipe (ACIPCO) as a laborer in their pipe shop. According to United States census records the Hairston family also lived in North Birmingham and Sayreton. Sam spent his formative years in Hooper City and attended Hooper City High School. Reportedly Sam did not finish high school and when he was 16 he told the employment office at ACIPCO that he was 18 and was given a job working for the company. According to Sam he went to work to help support the family and give his brothers and sisters the opportunity to go to school.

Ryan’s father was born in Israel and Ryan became the 24th player to combine 300-plus homers with 200-plus stolen bases. Ryan will eclipse Hank Greenberg’s 331 homeruns this year. He was nine short at the start of the year. 2. Alex Bregman, age 24, Houston Astros third-baseman, was named Most Valuable Player in the American League in the All-Star Game in 2018, and finished 5th for the American League Most Valuable Player Award. Alex was a first-round draft pick. 3. Richard Bleier, age 30, is a left-handed pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles in his third big-league season, and had a 1.93 ERA last year. He had season-ending surgery and is on the DL. 4. Max Fried, age 24, is a left-handed pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, and is a promising star with a low ERA and may be one of the best relief pitchers in baseball. Max is a former first-round draft pick. 5. Ty Kelly, age 29, was a star for Team Israel, but this infielder and outfielder has yet to show such promise for the New York Mets. 6. Ian Kinsler, age 36, had a terrific major-league career as a great second-baseman, but this should be his last year in the majors with the San Diego Padres. 7. Ryan Lavarnway, age 30, a catcher, was a star on Team Israel, but has yet shown such promise for the Pittsburgh Pirates and now with the New York Yankees.
