El nuevo título de Level-5, incluirá la misma historia de YO-KAI WATCH 2: Fantasqueletos y YO-KAI WATCH 2: Carnánimas, y sumará misiones y localizaciones diferentes, además de nuevos Yo-kai de los que hacerse amigo. En YO-KAI WATCH 2: Mentespectros el jugador vuelve a Floridablanca, ciudad amenazada por un grupo de misteriosos y siniestros Yo-kai, metido en la piel de Nate o Katie y acompañado por los divertidos Jibanyan y Whisper.
